why does everyone hate robbie!
Maybe something to do with

Selling millions of albums
Having tens of millions in the bank
And shagging a string of beauty's

...and probably paid more in taxes than most on here will ever earn.
I'm no great fan of his music, so I don't buy his records, or watch him on the television, as my set has other channels available which he won't be on - I'm sure my telly is far from unique in this respect.
Seems a reasonable enough system to me.

That's a nonsense, otherwise I'd feel the same about Bowie and David Gilmour etc, but I don't. You see, those people have this thing called 'talent.' And that's the difference.

Aye
I certainly don't listen to his music
As for him as a person I think I'd go for a pint with him over some of the folk posting on the Mandela thread :)

But this 'talent' thing is subjective - one man's Lou Reed is another man's Phil Collins, (R.I.P).
Ask ten great rock critics for their Top Ten, and you will get ten different lists, so if they can't agree on a definitive list, then what hope do the rest of us have?
I think a lot of folk wrongly equate 'talent' with 'people who's records are in my collection', and 'not talented' means 'people who's records I don't like'.

That's a fair point, and one that it's essentially impossible to argue against. But I can't help but feel you're being a tad idealistic. I mean, does Robbie Williams feasibly have talent on a level with David Bowie? Really?

Certainly not in my opinion mate, but then there are probably millions of Robbie fans out there who would disagree with you and I.
We don't live in a meritocracy anyway, so sales figures are no real barometer of talent, which is a relief to those of us who consider Joy Division to be a tad better than One Direction.
Sometimes it simply comes down to personal preference - I can't abide Elvis Presley, yet others worship him, and it would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.

My Mrs would suck him off tomorrow!!!

Only saying like.X

I have been compared to Robbie Williams - namely in that I am annoying, overweight and can't fucking sing.
I'll be round after the game with a bottle of Listerine and some Viagra, if you want to prepare Mrs St Helens Blue for an instantly forgettable and unfulfilling 60 second sexual disappointment.
