Always a good turn - came close to over acting sometimes in his expressive exuberance - like a toned down Brian Blessed. From Siegfried in All Creatures Great and Small to latter day performances as Churchill. He was an art lover who always gave his all - 91 was a decent innings and he has left behind a legacy of great performances.

Could never work out if he was good or seriously over acting in All Creatures, liked him though RIP

I'll always remember him for all creatures and Harry Potter.

He was also an expert in the most deadly weapon of the Middle Ages- The Longbow.
He did a documentary about bows and archers a few years ago,and he made the hour long episode very interesting and enjoyable to watch.
R.I.P Seigfried Farnon.
Yes he was very knowledgeable on the Longbow and the middle ages and he was good in that although he did tend to put it on when pretending to show the draweight of the bow
