1. the practice of professing standards, beliefs, etc, contrary to one's real character or actual behaviour, esp the pretence of virtue and piety

No real shame in losing 1-0 to the previous winners of the competition, away from home, in the last minute; who are also third in the league.

Not like it was a Serie B team at home after all.

How the fuck did it come to this?

Someone who claims to be a fan of our club sneering at his own club's result, in support of the manager of a lesser club.

I mean, in a sane world that comment could only come from a fan of one our rivals, bitter in defeat.

Apologies if you are in fact an Inter or United fan, but the 15K posts makes me assume you aren't.
Not at all.

Firstly, the initial bump of this thread was one of spite, of that there is zero doubt.

Secondly, the reply that I quoted was also one of spite and sarcasm.

Lastly, when we were unfortunate enough to exit a similar competition as to the one Inter were knocked out of the two posters in question did not sneer at the manager, did they? No, they challenged those who did. So why then make the effort to belittle one manager and not the other?

Inter Milan lost away from home to the team third in the same division, hardly a result worth snide, sarcastic and unnecessary comments towards anyone at the club, is it? Unless of course, some just like a cheap shot.

So when put into context i.e. we lost in a similar competition to a team far lesser than ourselves, yet the same posters didn't respond in a similar fashion, then I think it's fair to like I said, put it in context; perhaps look a little closer to home before laughing at others.

This Pellegrini/Mancini "thing" is not black and white like you and so many paint it. I appreciate everything Mancini did for us and wish him nothing but success. I also love what Pellegrini has done and hope he's here for quite some time.

I don't agree with snide, cheap shots (especially in this instance when there is no real shame in the result) at a former manager or anyone associated with the club for no reason.

My comment is not one to diminish the current manager or promote another in his favour but to highlight the hypocrisy, short memories and childishness of others; yourself for one.

After all, how did it come to this? So called supporters celebrating the defeats of one of the club's most successful managers? Not even Inter as a team, no, it was "Bobster" that was knocked out.
Well said mate, great post.

Good post that mate.

Thing is, now we're palpably better than united I like that we have a manager who's understated, measured and calm in a way that reflects our more elevated status; but as we caught up with and passed them by I equally liked having a man at the helm who thrived on conflict, who had a bit of swagger and attitude and who could deliver a big polite "fuck you" in their general direction.

Mancini was perfect for our club when it suffered from growing pains.

Exactly its the old horses/ courses thing - Bobby was an excellent riposte to GPC gobbing off and throwing his weight around to disguise what was happening to his juggernaut as it began its death throes. Now we have the perfect manager to sit Buddha like and smile as that dinosaur across the road writhes and moans -Pellers is a man of few words but they are well chosen and well placed unlike the egoist that is TT and his mumblings that are allegedly a philosophy
