Roberto Mancini

I look back fondly on him of course. I also remember our players fighting with each other and him quite often. Right man at the right time. Being a weird **** is people having him as their favourite ever when we’ve had the best manager ever the last 5 years dominating the English game. I don’t dislike the Mancini love, I hate when weirdos prefer him over Pep.

He's not in Peps class, but he dragged this club to the cusp of greatness.

Most football managers come and go, leaving no mark, not Roberto.

There was City before Mancini and there was City after Mancini.

Fair enough if you think Pep is the best manager ever. I love Pep and love Mancini. However with the backing Pep has had and the state of some of the traditional big clubs both in Europe and domestically over the last 5 years. Do you not think Mancini could have managed at least 3 out of 5 PL and not won the champions league during that time?

You think the man who couldn’t get out of the group stages would have won it? Bold that. You have now downplayed all peps achievements that anyone can do what he’s done with his backing. Makes me laugh that like Mancini wasnt backed massively. Spent a fucking bomb but I wouldn’t be stupid enough to say any manager could have done what he done with that backing.

I think Bobby has a shelf life as a club manager. He's one of those managers that eventually falls out with too many people eventually making his position untenable. However as an international manager that doesn't matter as much and as an in-game tactician he's one of the best. I would rate him higher than Pep for managing a game but far behind him for managing a club.

Modesty doesn't get you very far in competitive sport.

You're old enough to know how fawning Premier League mangers were to Ferguson, not Roberto....

If he'd done nothing other than this, he'd still gets my vote for a statue.

But he did so much more. The signings he made, the FA Cup, the Premier League and of course....

The right man at the right time and a club legend.
The players did it all in spite of him remember.............

One I simply asked the question mate. 2 I wasn’t slagging Pep. 3rd and finally I didn’t say he’d have won the champions league but neither has Pep in his 5 years of great opportunities.

The right man at the right time and a club legend.

To add to that we were battling FFP at the time so our spending was curtailed when team clearly needed new investment after winning the title, furthermore, he didn't have the support of Tixi and Ferran either.

Pep has done an amazing job but so did Mancini, he is a city legend and no one can undermine his status in club's history.

As someone else said, the right man at the right time. I will always love him, despite what happened at the end, and I will always be happy when he does well. I would rather England had won the game last night but it felt good seeing Roberto under the Wembley arch, smiling with tears in his eyes and with a trophy in hand once more. He's back on the map after a few years in the wilderness and I wish him all the best.

You asked the questions with the tone that Mancini could of done what Peps done, otherwise it wouldn’t be mentioned. Could any manager have done what Mancini done with his huge backing? Mancini lost a cup final to fucking Wigan, it shows the many variables in winning a knock out competition, like our failings in the champions league, no manager performed as badly as Mancini in that competition though. If doing what Peps done for us was so easy I’m insure why no manager of any other team has done it before.
