So do I fella.

Juve not a viable option for him imo.

This is a deal that was done a long time ago i would say and we are just seeing Wenger and the Arse politically hanging him out to dry.
I heard it was done at Christmas which is when I put my £20 on.

Well as much as I tend to take what the papers say with a pinch of salt, The Times is one of the more reputable publications and they were claiming RvP had agreed terms with us months ago, a story they have a re-iterated a few times since. Of course, I'll never take any transfer as 100% gospel until it actually happens but I'd be surprised if The Times had plucked that story out of thin air.
One thing I will say then is that if the Times are saying it and it's what I was told way back when, then someone has definately briefed that a deal was already done (be they on RvP's side, Arse's or City's), let's just hope they were right.

Player power wins all the time, especially one who's in the last year of a contract-not a chance that he will stay there.

Theres something badly wrong at Arsenal, leaving all your top players in the last year of contracts.

There is nothing a club can do about it - if a player wants to let his contract run out the club are powerless - what Le Arse have not addressed are the reasons why these guys are leaving and secondly their refusal to accept the fookin obvious and get shut asap

City are in a similar position with DJ - personally i would say thank you and have him out the door if he dont sogn a new contract - no hard feelings from me just a thank you

It will at some point be City this happens too Tevez / Yaya / Silva / Aguero take your pick - the best clubs manage this process Rags being the bench mark

City certainly know this with Tevez,Yaya will spend the best years of his career here at the age he is now,Aguero without doubt will do 3 seasons here then move onwards.Silva is renewing his to a fresh 5 year deal.

with Arsenal they should have tied up Van Persie with 2 years left on his contract, same with Nasri and by all accounts Walcott.

But Le Arse tried to get RvP to sign a new contract last year - he wouldnt he kept putting it off and off - had Le Arse sold him last year then based upon last year they would have finished outside the top 4 so keeping him was the best thing - the best thing now is to get rid asap

Player power does not win "all the time".

I'm sure RvP is off though, but we can't just assume because he has allegedly agreed a deal with City that it will happen.

Many hurdles still to climb!

They have even bought replacement strikers

Soul, have you any examples of a player not getting his own way when putting in a transfer request whilst in the last year of his contract? Not being argumentative fella just interested to know.

I've heard that Wenger has said that he wouldn't sell us a virus.

The old Rab C Nesbitt line !!!

Firstly, when did RvP put in a transfer request? I know he said he wouldn't sign a new contract, but as far as I am aware, he's never put in a transfer request.

Secondly, all the people on here quoting The Times as stating that a deal was agreed with City and RvP months ago... is that the same Times that is saying today that Arsenal refuse to sell him and would rather he went next year on a freee. Which Times do we believe?

Thirdly, I would struggle to think of a player who would actualy ask for a transfer in his last year of contract, seeing as he would lose loyalty bonuses because of it. Could I point out that Walcott and De Jong are in their last year of contract and might see them out...or might get sold... what goes in behind closed doors will remain a secret to football fans for evermore!

As I said, I'm sure RvP will leave. I'm just suggesting that don't take it for granted that it will be to City. Even the bookie Fred the Red gets it wrong sometimes...

1) He hasn't, but in the last year of his contract, saying he won't sign another would cost the club £20m. Therefore it's a defacto transfer request at some point either now or in 12 months time.

2) The Times is a publication with different journalists, they are told different things by different people. it could well be both are true. RVP agreed a deal with us and Arse briefed another journo that they won't sell (although they obviously will and are trying to get the best price)

3) Matters not, saying "I won't renew" generally forces the parent club to sell, a la Nasri and shortly RVP.

I've no idea if he will come to City, but we are in for him strongly and indications are that he his willing to come to us.

RvP has not put in a transfer request why would he better so say he aint signing a new contract forcing Le arse to sell him and RvP then picks up his loyalty bonus

No deal has been done - i have no doubt RvP has an idea of what he is likely to pick up but Le Arse holds his contract and i cant believe any deal has been done - its only just starting

Thridd point you are right

That was mis-heard (must be something to do with those Alsatian, nasal tones). What he actually said was that he wouldn't sell us a Wireless, which came as a grave disappointment, I must say....

Actually I've just had it clarified, BTP. You mis-heard about the mis-hearing.

He was actually talking about one of his lesser known youngsters that he is refusing to sell to us. He actually said "I wouldn't sell them Miley Cirus".

She doesn't track back anyway, so I'm not that concerned.

I've heard she pushes back though so...

Could it be that RVP is waiting for Adebayor to leave the building, before he enters it,as they are not best friends after their set to during our 4-2 win ?

A wireless you say?

How much do you want for it?
