"Robinho going NOWHERE" Garry Cook [Merged]

Re: Barcelona set to loan Robinho

On Sky sports now ..

Reports in Spain have claimed that Barcelona are preparing to complete a swoop that will see them land Robinho on loan from Manchester City with a view to a permanent deal.

Catalan television station TV3 state that an agreement could even be reached in the next 24 hours after the Blaugrana made their interest official, with talks to iron out the details said to be ongoing on at the moment.

Robinho has been quoted as saying that he would welcome a move back to the Spanish league and Pep Guardiola is a known fan of the Brazil international after he stated he would have liked to have signed him 12 months ago.

Reports in both England and Spain have suggested that the 25-year-old former Real Madrid man has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave if a team in the UEFA Champions League are keen to secure his services.

Talks about a possible move for Robinho are rumoured to have begun when City enquired about Samuel Eto'o and a deal for the Cameroon striker could be part of the whole package.

With Barcelona wanting Robinho to bolster their options on the left next term after Franck Ribery was put out of reach by Bayern Munich, the Eastlands side are keen on adding a new striker to their ranks.

Re: Robinho On Loan ???

Absolute garbage of the highest order, sometimes I get the feeling that these journalists speak to a local at the pub and make it up as they go along. Firstly 35 million as was qouted by goal is simply not acceptable, no longer do city have to be bent over. The tail does not wag the dog anymore at this club and players need to understand they are employed by some incredibly powerful people now. Our club has no debt and is in no need to sell any player, much less a player whom I believe and most people believe critical to the success of the club. Of course rumours start from somewhere but at the end of the day around 1% of the stories on Goal have any form of truth to them. Robbie is not leaving and the owners will not be dictated to by any of the players anymore, this is the Sheikhs baby and he doesnt need any rubbish going on. If Robinho came out and said he wanted to leave the club is quite literally in a such a financial position that they could afford to pay him to sit in the reserves and make an example. This wouldnt be great man management but it would also send a clear message we wont be dicated to like we were for the past 50 years.
