Robinho (Merged)

Re: Robinho?

Besiktas are in the EL not the CL? If so it seems odd he would bother moving to Turkey and not stay here.

I guess it's all to do with the climate?

Lyon have entered the race to end Robinho’s Manchester City misery after Besiktas made a bid that could be worth up to £25m.

Last season’s French league runners-up had considered a loan move for the Brazilian – but have been told that the Blues would rather sell.

City are hoping to recoup most of the £32.5m they paid Real Madrid for the playmaker in September 2008.

Robinho, 26, did not feature in Thursday’s Europa League play-off match against FC Timisoara, despite being included in the initial squad, as the Blues did not want to cup-tie him.

Besiktas – who, like City, are set to progress through the Europa League play-off round – have offered an initial £15m, with the rest due in performance-related add-ons if the Brazilian is a success in Turkey.

A deal would see Robinho reunited with Besiktas boss Bernd Schuster, who was his coach at Real Madrid.

But Lyon have the advantage of being able to offer Champions League football if they are prepared to match the Turkish club’s offer.

Besiktas’ Turkish league rivals Fenerbahce have also indicated an interest in Robinho, but are understood to be unwilling to bid anywhere near as much.

City officials said on Friday night that no deal has been agreed with Besiktas, opening the door for a Lyon approach.

Meanwhile, the Blues have sold out of season tickets for the first time in their history after a busy summer in the transfer market.

Fans have flocked to buy the Seasoncards, as they are officially known, following the signings of David Silva, Mario Balotelli, James Milner, Yaya Toure, Jerome Boateng and Aleksandar Kolarov.

The Blues have now set up a waiting list for fans who want to register for next year.

What do you think? Have your say.

Dont know about anyone else but if robbi goes to lyon i'd like to see miralem pjanic as part of the deal.

Re: Robinho?

There will never be a shortage of clubs interested in Robbie and be willing to part with a decent amount of cash to land him. The problem most of these clubs will face will be affording his wages and still building a competitive side around him. I think the best option for all parties is to Robbie to stay here and try and prove himself at least until January. If he can't get it done this time, then take the best offer that comes around and even offer him back to Santos and let him wallow in mediocre competition the rest of his career.

Re: Robinho?

Robinho needs first team football. I can already see how the discussions with Mancini might go. People talk about him fighting for a place but he wants to be guaranteed one (and I think he deserves it despite what everyone else says). At first I thought it was crazy Robinho would consider going to a place like Turkey, but if they guarantee him football and he is friends with the likes of Guti then it may happen.

Please stay!!!

What exactly has he done to deserve a first team place?
I dont care how much he cost or what his wages are, he should have to fight for a place just like everyone else. Mancini will pick the best 11 players for each game, you cant just say "We'll give robinho a place or he will cry" if hes not the best player at the time.

Re: Robinho?

I also want him to stay and perform like he can for us but NO guarantees. Not fair on the others.

Re: Robinho?

Robinho confirmed today to Brasilian press that he rejected an offer from Turkey (Fenerbahce) and plans on staying in Europe: in either Spain or Italy.

Here is the article in full (as there will no likely be many misinterpretations today from garbage English press):

The press indicate that Robinho has been absent from the side so far this season, as well as being absent from the huge poster "Be Part of It" created (even though Mancini has said he is resting him).

He says conversations are still going on, but he cannot confirm anything. There is still a week left he says which something can still happen. Finally he says something like "The only thing I will say is that I will continue playing in Europe. Italy or Spain."

Re: Robinho?

every single club in Italy and Spain are skint. This could get messy, no punt intended.
