Wouldn't he need to go to uni and study their language as well? They don't just pick English teachers because they can speak English you know! You have to go through all the uni/training stuff other teachers go through unfortunately! It's possible to do what you want, you're actually in a decent position where you have little strings attached and you can start again and make what you want of your life, what are you interested in? Is there any profession you'd fancied working in but never took it further? Is there anywhere you'd wanted to live? Are there any jobs there?
You have to have the conviction and belief you can make a success of it but if you do believe in yourself you can make it happen, that's what makes people progress and make better of their life.
