rockport county

I am one of those who used to occasionally watch County on Friday nights. Growing up in South Manchester it made sense to adopt them as a second team. But their fans were so disgusting when we met them in the lower leagues that I now despise them with a vengeance. They really do hate us and despite the difference in status these days the feeling is mutual.

Same here. I and other City fans used to go and genuinely wanted them to win, unlike the odd pocket of rags who just took the piss and laughed at them all game. In more recent times County fans became really bitter and twisted about City and now I couldn't give a flying fuck about them. Moral of the story? Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

It's bizarre that while City went to shit under Peter Swales' chairmanship, at the same time he and Freddie Pye did numerous favours for County and this, coupled with the amount of blues turning up for their Friday night home games effectively helped keep them in business for many years. I don't seem to recall any of the fuckers moaning about all this help back then, but as soon as they ended up in the same division as us they became a bunch of bitter bastards towards us. I've no problem with them taking the piss out of us whenever they beat us but there was a sinister undercurrent that manifested itself in their attitude towards us and it's fucking hilarious to see that bitterness still prevalent in so many of their fans. Whatever we think of United, there's a genuine historical rivalry there that goes back well over a hundred years so the hatred in both camps is understandable. The same can't be said for Stockport Cnuty.

Not too keen on the 'raggish' comments people are leaving like 'little old county' and 'a small club', considering its not too long since we used to play them, but I do really hate them now. Real ungrateful group of tossers.
I read through the forum that someone posted on page 2 and some of what they were saying on there was just a load of shit. 'Emptyhad' and 'not being able to sell out' gave me a laugh. Also got a kick out of 'They're the best they've ever been but still can't sell out their ground' and 'County are the worst they have ever been but have retained their most loyal fans for the most part', despite their attendances being shocking even when they were a bit higher up the divisions. We have offered to play them to raise money for them on more than one occasion. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they were offered Maine Road after we left? It truly is nothing but jealousy that at the end of our bad times, we are rewarded with these incredible good times.

It's not raggish at all, they are, and were a small club, we never were a small club (except for at the start of our existence, as was every club).

Anyway, fcuk County, thick twats, as someone else said, they just spout the same bile that them red twats come out with.

Congratulations on beating us a couple of times Stockport, bet you will still be dining on that as you slip further down the leagues.

My point was mate, when we were down in the lower divisions, how many times would the united fans have said city are a small club etc.
I never said we were a small club, and never said they were a big club, was only stating that these are the sort of comments that I would consider to be 'raggish'. Don't agree with me thats fine, your allowed your opinion, just my view on it.

Used to watch them on a Friday night. Indeed you could say the support was split into three camps. United fans (supporting them as their 2nd team), City fans (supporting them as their 2nd team) and the County only sort. By Snackpot's club and fan actions in the 90's they lost a lot of City oriented supporters.

Awful people. Every single North West club in the conference has better fans compared with them.

I like many City fans used to go and watch them Friday nights or if City weren't playing and used to consider it helping my local club, living and working in Stockport I work with a few County fans and I can honestly say they are the most miserable, bitter bile filled arseholes alive, in fact I would go as far as to say the banter with the rag fans is better than with these morons. Small minded, small time club run by amateur businessmen who have no idea how to run a football club. Thought they were too good to share with Sale Sharks and became even more bitter when they realised they were even the poor relations of the egg throwers who regularly had bigger attendances than the football. If you gave me a free ticket now I'd say no thanks, I would rather watch a lank tv screen!

So much so that I celebrated when they went down to the conference and I will celebrate even more when they drop to the next level. In fact the sooner they go bust and reform at the bottom of the pyramid the better. Better still if they go out of existence.

I would never want that to happen to them and I know first hand the vitriol they have spewed at City, the difference now is that I feel pretty much indifferent whereas I used to have a soft spot for them because of my dad being County (not that he has been to EP very often).

I will never understand why they dislike us so much, it should be the opposite for us providing them with moments of joy and bragging rights they would never have had without us in those seasons we crossed paths. For County fans, aside from play off finals at Wembley, it probably doesn't get much better than beating City at Maine Road. What was Weaver doing?
