Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Dreadful, dreadful news.

Glad we brought Gundo back. And Kovacic is as good as he is (although he needs to figure out when to press and when to stay).

Pep is the best manager in the world and will find a way to work around it but I'd assume it may take a while. Probably Lewis and his energy somewhere in midfield to help with legs. Expect Stones/maybe Gvardiol in there at some point too.

What a fucking blow.
I’m not convinced on Kovacic over a full season. He has some good games but lots of mediocre ones.

It's true I've seen it on Arsenal Reddit groups - some fans hoping Rodri's done his ACL. Disgraceful - I'm ashamed. Football really brings the worst out of some people. These guys are no better than Spurs fans hoping Odegaard is out for the season.
there are so many posts on twitter, and i hears even top afc ytb accounts were celebrating. i saw ONE post on twitter celebrating odegaard’s injury by a city account and he was called out on it.

i don’t believe in karma, but i hope i’m wrong.

It’s a blow mate but Pep will find a way to, step up JS , more than capable

This idea of signing back ups for key players is not realistic. If any player is content to sit as a back up to a Rodri or Haaland, then truth is they are either not good enough or just here for the money. The right way to go, which we have largely done, is sign quality players and then let a great coach adapt systems around them. If Rodri’s season is over it is a blow obviously, but I’m not sure having a second string DM sitting there would lessen the blow. If you look at the squad, I can see Pep going very positive whilst (if) Rodri is out.

It’s obviously terrible news if true but we have plenty of options if we need them. Kovacic has started the season really well and has shown he can play there. We have Gundo and Nunes. I saw KDB play in this position for Belgium in the Euros and he looked very good. We also have John Stones and I think Gvardiol could a job there.

It’s not perfect but in the words of Captain Mainwaring “Don’t Panic”
