Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Absolutely gutted. Looked bad at first, but was hopeful it wasn't serious based on him walking around after the game. I'd anticipate there are different grades and it might not be too severe but this is a huge huge blow to our season.

I thought it was evident yesterday how much we miss him, they got a foothold as soon as he went off. Kovacic is excellent, but he isn't Rodri. Rico and Gundo can do a job but his physicality and ability in both boxes is just unmatched. Might have to settle for a double this season now.

Fucking hell, the doom merchants have started. Before you all start writing us off, just think back how Pep has had continuous success despite many many players either being out or leaving us over the years. The season KDB got crocked and we won every game without him as just one example.
He was one of our best players last year, you only have to see how different we played after he went off yesterday. It's a massive loss and a bit different to other positions where others can obviously fill in.

5 games in, Rodri and Bobb out for most of the season, KDB out for the time being. We've had a howler start so far injury wise.

Time for Pep to reinvent the wheel again.

If that is the most reliable source then that is not good news. The only positive we still do have good cover in midfield.

You should be much more concerned. Gundo, like Kovacic, is a great option to give Rodri a rest when we're 3 goals up, or against the weaker sides at home. Neither should be a starter in that role for a side that wants to win titles.

Rodri missing the rest of the season is a hammer blow to our chances in the league, and I'd say it all but ends any hope of winning the Champions League unless we sign a top replacement in January.

He's our most important player by a mile.
We can’t replace Rodri like for like. Pep will have to shuffle the pack. We will need Kova and someone else as holders in the toughest games. Bernie can play there if required.

I'm not one to panic, wet myself and throw in the towel at this stage, bucko.
