Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

Real Madrid, the club, and their fans, appear to me, like the worst bits of all of United, Liverpool and Arsenal rolled into one and multiplied by ten.

All that arrogance, entitlement, thinking they’re royalty, better than everyone else, everyone else is irrelevant of the Redshirts but on another level altogether.

There is no equivalent club to Madrid in England. Success and fan size is shared out much more widely in England. Apart from Atlético Madrid fans, all other Castillians support Real Madrid as well as their club. They’re like a Castillian national team.

Imagine having to live beside them like Atlético Madrid fans. Barcelona and Athleic Bilbao (Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao is the original ‘El Classico’, and Atlético Madrid exist off the back of it and have their club name, their red+white stripes and club badge as a copy of Athletic Bilbao), hate Madrid but they don’t have to live in the same city like Atlético Madrid fans do.

I bet they’re a fucking nightmare. Like this ****:

^this was after we hammered them 4-0 and Valverde said it was the best atmosphere he’d ever played in. Proper bitter Madridiot having a proper Mardid meltdown outside the ground because he couldn’t take it.

Valverde genuinely seems like the only decent, level-headed player Real Madrid have at present, and I actually think he is also one of their best players. I still maintain that he was the driving force behind their Champions League win and Bellingham’s purple patch in the first half of the season (as he did all of the actual work that enabled Bellingham to just attack).

I would absolutely love if we were able to bring him to City, and he would be incredible next to Rodri in our system.

He is an Atleti guy though, i doubt he would have gone to madrid

I'm sure a few have started at Atleti and moved to Madrid further down the line, so not impossible.

That said, for all their fans slating him now, they'd be desperate to sign him if they had the chance.

In other news, Real Madrid has announced the inaugural Balón de Oro award to be awarded to the world's greatest Real Madrid player

The truth is Rodri is a better player than Modric who won Ballon d'Or.

Admittedly, Modric is much better in certain respects, e.g., technique wise and in small spaces. He's a magician in midfield.

But if you take into account the whole package, in particular all aspects of defending plus assisting plus scoring goals from DM, then it's Rodri.

Actually, I think many people, including some City fans, underrate Rodri. His completeness as a player is absolutely phenomenal. And he's a proper leader to boot.

So small and insignificant he chose to wear a City scarf around his neck.

Not really sure why this award is seens as the ultimate to the players but I’m so pleased for rodri. It’s fully deserved.

Madrid showing how entitled they are. Really pathetic behaviour
It’s a close-to seven decade award that is seen as exceptionally prestigious to the players.

The Balon d’Or is as old as the European Cup and is seventeen years older than the PFA Players’ Player of the Season award.

Real Madrid might have the most insufferable "fans" in the world.

I mean on a personal level I'll always think fans of certain clubs in England are worse. But objectively speaking, they take some beating when it comes to cuntishness, both club and fans

Not even arsed they squeezed past us on pens last season. Deep down they fully understand they can't beat us in 90 mins, they found that out when we handed their arses to them 4-0 and I love that they know it.

Seen (if it's true) that nobody at Real Madrid is going to tonight's ceremony and the club have spat their dummy out, sounds like Rodri is the clear favourite to be named Ballon d'Or winner now, unless they do something incredibly daft like giving it to Lamine Yamal.

It should easily be Rodri based on consistency leadership and professionalism, he's been head and shoulders above everybody in terms of reliability and importance both at club and international level.

Although I won't be watching the popularity contest as I really can't stand it, honestly I hope he gets the award and recognition he thoroughly deserves tonight.
