The first 4 on that list won it when it was ‘European Footballer of the Year’, only open to Europeans. Haaland won ‘European Footballer of the year’ last year. ;-)

Ballon d’Or is about humility, personality and class as well as individual brilliance. Vinicius has proved today he lacks the first three all while being an inferior player to Rodri. The deserved winner.

But frankly it is about time a player of his talent and humility was recognised as being the kingpin of both his club side and his country’s.
