Perez is mad because he knows this becomes a significant marketing tool for us. I’m sure in his pitch to top players he tells them you got to come to Madrid to get all the individual accolades. He knows we can now say you can have it all at City. The best league, team trophies, and all the individual accolades.

One more person I'm happy for tonight is Txiki. Glad he got to see it happen under his time here with us. Exactamente. The award’s at least as much for what he did for Spain as what he did for City. But Franco’s club think they’re bigger than the national team.

There’ll be a reckoning for this behaviour.
