Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

The rags onto their 8th manager since GPC and languishing down the league while city are celebrating a ballon winner after 4 in a row and a treble incl a champions league.

What alternative universe did we stumble into? -:)
Exactly! Post of the evening/thread! Sums the last 15 years or so in one!

Was going to post similar last night after the Rodri result was announced but got distracted sorting out final arrangements with the distaff side for our 47th wedding anniversary today.

Well done Rodri, best player on the planet these past three years! And thanks to 'Wolviedinho' for posting!

(Oh and nb.. a big 'F**k you' to those self-entitled twunts in Madrid..!)

Wow 47 years!
Congratulations to you both!!

Most deserving. Incredible achievement. I’d say he even had a strong case in the treble season. But this is rewarding high level performance and consistency for nearly three years, like an Oscar for appreciating someone’s body of work even if that particular film wasn’t their greatest work.

Sublime midfielder, means the world to us as a club, and in fact it is absolutely huge for Spain who have never had a Balon D’or winner since it first began. Can’t understate how much it elevates City, we now have a Balon D’or winner and have completed football at club level. Absolutely huge.

Lastly, cherish the rivals tears, Madrid embarrassed themselves yesterday given the institution they are. Think pieces won’t take away a well deserved award.

Perez is mad because he knows this becomes a significant marketing tool for us. I’m sure in his pitch to top players he tells them you got to come to Madrid to get all the individual accolades. He knows we can now say you can have it all at City. The best league, team trophies, and all the individual accolades.
And for a defensive midfielder at that, something virtually unheard of for the balon d'or.

I genuinely think a lot of voting journalists were embarrassed that an MLS player won it last year instead of Haaland.
