This is very true and the best reader of the game I remember for us was Barry. He always seemed to amble over to the exact spot the ball landed. How can you possibly know or say that without having watched him live (not on TV)? My apologises if you actually have.
It’s virtually impossible to see positioning and reading of the game on TV, unless it’s on tactical cam which very rarely happens and even more infrequently in the Spanish games. The VVD incident near the end of the season (Sissoko, Spurs) when the commentators wanked themselves silly over him pushing him on his weaker foot for example showed a good example but that’s so infrequently shown I don’t think it’s possible to make that claim without seeing him live at the match.
Sorry I’m not trying to dig you out, it’s just trying to work out how you know.
I’ve watched him on several occasions in la Liga against the top teams and in the champions league last season and thought to myself I’d love him at our place.. only took a few times watching him to see that the lad will be a great talent. Tbh I thought he would probably end up at Barcelona, I watched Bernardo before he signed and thought the same thing never watched him live just on (TV)..the lad has a very good footballing brain and would suit our style of play down the ground.. you don’t need to watch someone live in a stadium to notice there a talent imo..
To start I know a good player when I see one..and Rodri suits our game without a doubt..he reminds me of Busquets and fern combine with his reading of the game. His interceptions and tackles not interested in his forward play tbh were not signing him for that. Your just complicating things.. all I’m saying is he’s a great reader of the game just like fern is.. and will have a great future for sure hopefully we sign him. That’s bollocks mate u don’t need to watch someone live in a ground to know there a good player.. if u have played the game before and have basic knowledge of football u would understand. Clearly u haven’t.. he’s a huge prospect and will be a great replacement for fern accept it..You can see how good their touch, control, passing, shooting, heading etc. is but it’s impossible to judge a players intelligence, vision or positional sense on TV.
Without seeing the whole pitch yourself and therefore all the options, how can you possibly know if there was a better passing option or a better position he should have picked? You don’t.
That’s why people who only watch City on TV don’t realise how good we are and why we have so many options, even when you get Chuckle & Spitter on with their million and one angles it’s still difficult to really judge and see unless you’re physically there. How many people actually understand how Walker, De Bruyne and Sterling (when he’s playing RW) link up? Very very few. The amount of times De Bruyne is marked out of the game in advanced positions is silly, so he drops back in at inverted right back, Walker moves forward into a wingers position and Sterling moves inside to De Bruynes original no.8 role. You don’t see that on TV ever really.

Youth and athleticism people cry.
Meanwhile busquets who looks like he runs through treacle did alright in Peps system...
By the looks of tomorrows papers it looks likely to happen sooner than later. This guy is the dogs bollocks, he is a very very good player who will suit our style of play to a tee. Well done to all at City who have made this transfer happen.
I don't read papers oakie, but thanks for letting us know, it sounds promising it could get done this week.By the looks of tomorrows papers it looks likely to happen sooner than later.
BBC website shows tomorrows headlines and its back page news in at least 2 of them.I don't read papers oakie, but thanks for letting us know, it sounds promising it could get done this week.
Try reading the thread, I’m one of his biggest fans and have according to some have given the best description of his abilities (good and bad). You’re clearly not bright enough to understand what I said about seeing his positioning and vision qualities, the text speak rubbish at the end kind of gives the game away.To start I know a good player when I see one..and Rodri suits our game without a doubt..he reminds me of Busquets and fern combine with his reading of the game.
