He has done for years. He is a player that is most effective from the left, but has had to accept a role on the right because Vinicius is completely useless when not on the left. Yes Vinicius are very good himself, probably a slightly better left-winger than Rodrygo atm and also more of a superstar, but it is his limitations that is the hindrance for Madrid to become fluent up front and the reason the slightly more versatile Rodrygo being stuck on a side he is competent at but not as effective. They have also bought Mbappe which is a prestige signing that also needs to roam in from the left somehow so there is a good reason for Rodrygo feeling like this is the time to move on. He has world-class talent.

I hate the fact we are selling Savio, but Rodrygo is a game-changer. This is Arjen Robben leaving Madrid for Bayern
 
Hes got the ability to play anywhere across the front-line I still think there’s a new level he can reach too. He’s a statement signing arguably our biggest signing since Haaland if we pulled it off. Genuinely think it’s the first wide player we can be confident to give us the sort of output Mahrez consistently did

Blimey that last sentence woke me up. I have to be honest, I haven't seen much of him apart from when he's scoring against us

Different at Madrid there's other reasons involved with who plays. Mbappe came in and immediately went into the starting eleven even though Madrid played better without him because hes Perez favourite. Rodrygo just isn't a Vini / Mbappe type name.

We can’t rely on only one top player for each position. That bit us on the arse with Rodri last season. It’s a squad game, we play over 60 games. You can’t have too many good players.
 
Hope to fuck we don’t go for this guy. Just don’t see it. Might be blind ignorance but struggle to see €100m.
 
Seems very Grealish-y to me.

He's never scored more than 10 in La Liga, and if we are going to spend 100 million or thereabouts, I would rather go and test the waters with Saka, given he only has 2 years left on his deal at Arenal.
 
No way we should Give Real 100m for a bench player ,there are plenty of other wingers.
