Sounds good I just hope when we pick up the phone to Madrid they don’t try and mention Rodri in the equation

If we have made room and happy to spend it’s a no brainer for everyone.

Our greatest match in Europe, hands down (and yeah, that includes when we terrified Fenerbahce…). Also, possibly Bernie's greatest match for us, in all competitions. And there have been many.

Pity that the English media don't pay attention to judgements like that, isn't it? When Liverpool won the league last May I actually, seriously, saw statements to the effect that they were probably the best team in the world at present. I'm pretty sure that I saw that on Sky, and I'm certain I saw it on the BBC.

My reservation about Rodrygo does not concern his abilities as a footballer. They are beyond question. I just wonder whether the environment he's been at in Madrid, with that stupid Galactico nonsense that surrounds them, is propitious to the atmosphere he'll find in the dressing room and on the training pitch.
City doesn't do “stars”, especially not under Pep. Just great team players.
If he can buy into that, fine. Let's go for him. A front line of Marmoush, Rodrygo, Haaland, with Foden and Cherki sitting just behind them, is positively ferocious.
(I don't particularly want to see Savinho go, by the way, and I certainly don't want to see Bobb go. We'll be going deep into four competitions — as we usually do — there'll be a need for everybody).
 
The only worry I have for Rodrygo is he’s pretty much a carbon-copy profile wise as Marmoush — he’s is yet another player that prefers playing in the half-spaces as opposed to being a 1v1 wideman. He also prefers playing on the left where we have Doku and Marmoush. I think he’s good enough to adapt but doesn’t seem the best fit profile wise. Hence why Barcola would be my choice but he’s a significant upgrade no doubt.

I do buy into the theory that we are wanting our “wingers” to become a lot narrower this year and become more like 10s.

But then if we’re doing that what happens if Nunes gets injured/rotated. We don’t really have an alternative there.

If there is a chance of signing Rodrygo City have to explore it and if Savinho is the fall guy so be it.

Barcola is another left wing. If we wanna end up like Madrid we should go for rodrygo. I don’t mind 5 LW. Maybe it’s what pep actually wants.
