Not Really. It would be like if Kevin De bruyne came back to manage city after winning the la liga with Atletico. Not only would we have faith in him but we would give him a substantial amount of time. Alonso is one of the best and most loved midfielders of real madrids history.

Agreed. If we could get him in for a similar fee to what we may get for Savinho, it's a no brainer for me. He's a proven better player. I've not seen much in Savinho to suggest he'll be better than Rodrygo and Rodrygo is 24, a good age for us I think. Plenty of experience but can still get better.

David Silva managed less in some seasons.

In fact, he only managed 20 or more twice in his career, about 5 years apart. The rest of the time was Rodrygo levels.

Let's not be selective here. Going on stats alone, David Silva wasn't anything to write home about but we know stats don't tell the full story.

Now I'm not suggesting Rodrygo is Silva, but the point is valid, just reeling off stats isn't the best way to judge a creative player. Plenty of players considered lesser players than David Silva have better G/A seasons on paper. It's what they can do for the team that matters.

Reminds me of Adama Traore kind of players and there's quite a few that cause us problems but barely hit 10 goals a season in the league.

Some players just have our number but can't do it to other teams consistently enough.

If I was a football journalist and I dont have a single clue what to publish. I would have started the rumors like:
1. Swap between Rodri and bellingham.
2. Vini junior wanting to join city/saudi arabia
3. Swap between haaland and vini jr.
4. Mbappe to liverpool rumors.
5. Isak to real madrid
I am sure these (or most of these) rumors will be on full swing till next year.
