Ideal scenario is Akanji goes with our blessing (leaving still 5 CBs) and we add Rodrygo to Marmoush, Doku, Savio, Foden, Bobb, Cherki and Haaland. Having 8 attackers for 4 positions, with a game every 3 or 4 days, wouldn't be bad.

If it were back in June, I would have confidently said Rodrygo would definitely come. But now, no. Reports from Real Madrid say he wants to stay there, without a doubt. If we want to bring him in, aside from the €100 million transfer fee, we also need him to open up to the idea. We’ll go with Plan B. If I didn’t know all this, I would never go against Romano at this time.

I thought Pep gave Rico way too much to do. He's not got the experience yet to play that hybrid role switching between midfield and right back, if he was allowed to just focus on one or the other for a run of games he will improve markedly.
He had some very good games last season particularly at the start but he also looked way out of his depth quite a few times its impossible to avoid.
He's got an excellent head on his shoulders though and seems the type of kid who is going to learn from his rough moments last year and increase his efforts. He backs himself which is vital if he's going to make it here.
