I totally agree. Not once have I seen Ait Nouri overlap Marmoush to get the best out of each other.
He subbed in Ake in stead of OR and expected Marmoush to dribble past defenders which he simply can’t do because he’s a striker not a winger.
I don’t know how to fix this, it’s not like when we won the 4Peat it was a simple fix. Play Kova x Rodri together Foden at the 10 instead of centre backs and strikers into Alvarez. This one is different. There’s new players but the issues are still the same. There wasn’t a single old player in Spurs
I'd love a stab at fixing this issue. I'd first get back to basics using a flat back four with overlapping FB's in a 4-3-3 formation.
Get RAN to over/underlap with Doku like they did to devastating effect on RAN's debut in the CWC. Doku/Savinho would rotate on the LW
I'd do the same on the right with Lewis & a new specialist association trained RB & get them to over/underlap with Bobb/Savinho.
Gvardiol & Stones/Khusanov would be my preferred CB pairing.
Rodri & Gonzalez would rotate at No 6.
Reijnders/Bernardo would play No 8.
Foden, Moose & Cherki would share the 10 spot.
Haaland/Moose would rotate as strikers.
Donnarumma/Trafford would rotate as keepers
Dias, Aké, NOR would form the balance of the main matchday squad.
If my maths are right, that makes a squad of 22 with 15 non-HG players & 7 HG players. This would mean we could possibly keep two from Akanji, Kovacic or Gundog & plus we have Bettinelli.
It'd definitely mean the exit door for Nunes, Ederson & Ortega, plus one from Akanji, Kovacic & Gundog. Considering the dubious fitness records of Aké & Stones, I'd say Akanji stays, & so too does Kovacic.
