Roll call for 9 minute protest

Ian Cheeseman made a good point on his latest podcast Forever Blue @ 53:40 onwards where he witnessed a protest at a Schalke 04 game. The whole crowd, even the away fans at that game stayed silent until 19:04 mins of the game.

We all support city at the end of the day, and even if you're not fully onboard, this will eventually affect everybody and to show solidarity for 9 mins of one game would truly drive home the message to the powers that be.

I think people will argue and disagree about what the protest should be about???

But I think the majority,IMO, on this thread and elsewhere, believe that City Supporters, do have a reason to protest about the Club’s Management, nothing against the team or players, continued poor treatment/respect for our supporters.

And that we should display our displeasure to the Management, at the next home game!!

And keep doing it at every home, in many different ways, until the Management address the many issues appropriately!

Are CM going to ask the club about maybe creating a 'neutral' area for 'visitors' in the new stand which could alleviate the problem of people attending one match being in the City end? Could that be an AOB item?
Just a suggestion from Eccles.

Even better, City Matters have started to have drop in sessions at the club shop before every home game. Everyone is welcome to come and discuss all matters in person.

Our visitors on Wednesday are Leicester, and then we have people visiting who are tourists.
 
I've posted this in the media thread but will repeat it here

TBH anything the media can throw at us to heap negativity on the club is jumped on. I'm sick and tired of accusations that our club cheats; rips off fans; has 'failed' this season because we've not won the league for the 5th consecutive time.....
There's no mention of the critical injuries to FIRST team players (not just squad players)
There's no mention of the action being taken by the fans of other clubs about tickets
There's no mention about the failure of other major clubs to win anything - all nice stuff about failing Arsenal for eg

for me, the ticket protest has come at the wrong time and I just want to go to matches to support our club and players - and to enjoy games with fellow fans

Disagree entirely. You're probably more aware of this particular protest because it's linked to City. But there has been major media coverage of various campaigns around the Premier League this season.

For a start, the stop exploiting loyalty campaign (which 1894 essentially started with the banner against Arsenal last season) has been picked up by all 20 premier league clubs. All 20 clubs have had a display linked to this campaign in their stadium this year.

Liverpool (who have by far the most organised group of supporters in the league) have won brilliant concessions for fans this year (including price freezes and some reductions). West Ham got their concessions ticket prices protected (after they were eventually going to be removed). Last season I don't think any club offered a price freeze on SCs, whereas this season we're expecting more than half the clubs in the PL to do so - all off the back of fan action.

This mentality of 'everyone is out to get City' and 'we're giving them another stick to beat our dear beloved club with' is actually nonsense. The media is a brilliant tool that fans can use to strengthen their voice (in the fight against the current businessmen trying to make our club even more profitable year on year - at the fans expense).

1894 (with the help from some other groups) orchastrated the media campaign which ultimately led to the removal of an unfair parking charge for disabled fans earlier in the season. If we didn't go down the media route, that probably wouldn't have happened.

Your last point you say "and enjoy games with fellow fans".... you'd have a job doing that when we've ALL been priced out!!

Pep works in a senior position for the same organisation that you have beef with. If he got the point that much I'm sure he'd have enough sway to help do something about it.

Why not do the demos before and after the game where the support for the team is not affected.

And anybody repeating Pep’s comments seem to miss out the bit where he says he needs our support - I’m sure he’s buzzing that the support will come from the concourse for 10 minutes then another 10 minutes for everybody trying to get to their seats.

As for the banner, most people were in favour of it. It was only after we lost the game that some whoppers tried to blame it for us gifting Real Madrid 2 goals late on. If you don't believe me, you can go back to the relevant thread and you'll see for yourself the contrast in opinions pre-match and post-match. Oh, and it wasn't specifically a Vinicius Jr banner. By the way, Rodri liked it. Are you going to call him out as well?

You're entitled to your opinion just like anyone else. I'm also entitled to mine and I happen to think that you're chatting shite but that's no surprise as you're often seen spouting similar nonsense on these types of threads

Calm down. It's Leicester at home mate. If we can't beat them with or without some fans missing for a tiny portion of the match then that's on the team rather than the fans

United fans protesting against the Glazers and Scruffy Jim have been continually mentioned in the media this season.
Amorim and the United team have been absolutely slaughtered this season, game after game, week after week.
Arteta and Arsenal have been ridiculed for bottling another PL title in the media.
The huge protest against Levy by Spurs fans was all over the media.
Ange Postecoglou facing the sack stories are all over the media.
Go on X/Twitter and Liverpool fans are constantly complaining about the lack of investment in the team by Henry and FSG.
Everton fans demonstrating inside and outside Goodison Park against the previous owner was all over the media.
Etc.
You must be living in a cave this season?

no problems with you having your views on this. When you refer to the 'media' which media are you referring to? For what its worth, I only seem to see negative stuff in the media - not positive things about the club or its fans

Well I happen to think that this is totally over the top and just more depressing negativity about OUR club. All I see on the TV is how great Arsenal; Liverpool; and even Amorin's rags are
When it comes to City, all they talk about is our problems.

I'm sick of reading it all and now the criticism of the club is all over BlueMoon

I like to see how our club has grown so much that 'tourist' fans want to come to the games - and to be honest - they seem to enjoy it more than many

I still sit with the 10 or so fans I sat with in the Kippax and we enjoy the match

I don't enjoy the way folk on here expect all long term fans to turn on the club. That's how I feel about it anyway
