Roll call for 9 minute protest

I'm happy to pay an increase on my season ticket if it meant that individual match day tickets were lower and kids tickets even lower.
Just because I won't join in the protest doesn't mean I don't care about the issues being raised but I think the only way the club take real notice is if everyone boycotts food and drinks and buying stuff from the club owned store on match days.
I hope the protest goes well and I hope it has the desired effect but I honestly don't believe it will.

Sensible remarks imo.
I have written to the club re younger fans and prices.
I also would pay more, as a foc, I don't pay enough.
The protesters would be better served coming into the ground early, and organising a protest. In the concourse dri king beer, smoking in the loos is hardly a thought out project.

And he will get his mate's point of view.
Then he could ask me for example and I would give him my point of view which is muddled by the plethora of reasons being given out here and elsewhere.
Then he could ask one of the people on here discussing those reasons and get another point of view.

That is all I meant. I am with the fans but, as always, try to be devils advocate and see all sides. Which is very difficult on this one I have to say. :-)

The reasons aren't muddled. They are very clear, regardless of how many reasons there are .The club has caused the reasons, not the fans. The fans haven't done anything wrong. No blame should be attached to the fans. The club should and must take full responsibility for what has happened, and why we as a club we have ended up in this situation.

I know it's easy to say ignore him because I'm shit at following my own advice on that but it's worth noting that he's not offering up this viewpoint in anything like good faith due to the fact that he has a track record of forever trolling on threads like this.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course but there seems to be a clique of people on this thread who are happy to anonymously spout off from behind their keyboards and not have the balls to say those same things in person to the people who will be protesting tonight. If those people were truly interested in finding out a bit more about what's going on instead of simply running off at the mouth and spouting vitriol, they would've read and digested the excellent post from @BertM19 that covers pretty much every aspect of the discontent amongst a growing number of fans. Or they may come over to the main entrance tonight and have a chat with some of the people who will be getting involved in order to better educate themselves. But certain people aren't interested in that one bit. They'll be happy to accept any price freeze/decrease that might come about as a result of this action though.

The City fans that don't know or who aren't on social media a lot probably would support this, but there are some who wont support it because of one reason and one reason only.

This thread is littered with clues, from blues who are only blues from a certain perspective.

Exactly. I get that some fans simply aren't up to speed with it all and my post wasn't aimed at them.

I am not apportioning blame to anyone. As I said I try to see all sides but I am on the side of the fans.
I just try and point out the way(s) Pep might be looking at it. :-)

I’m trying to see it as an unfocused, hastily put together protest that will be useful to gauge the scale of how many fans are on board with it moving forwards.

If there is enough support, there needs to be far better organisation and focussed messaging moving forward.

There also needs to be far less hostility to fans that aren’t as passionate about this issue as others may be.

The vast majority of fans at the match tonight won’t be in the loop fully. It’ll be interesting to see how many join in.

*tongue in cheek alert time*
If I were going to the match tonight and supporting the 9 minutes please may I start my ascent to my seat on the front row at kick off as it takes me about 7 minutes to get down to my seat anyway these days!!!

Sorry, you know I get concerned when you all get angsty with each other (& me) as we need to be a cohesive force to win our argument. :-) :-) Hope I get forgiven and not banned.

I agree about there should be less hostility to fans who aren't joining in the protest.
Serious question here..how many of the fans who are going to protest will still be buying food and drink ... because in my opinion the club are raising prices and using ticketing sites in order to maximise revenue..the best way to get back at them is through boycotting food and drink in the ground.
Plus with so much food going unsold and not being able to keep until the next match they will have to dispose of it..maybe to the food bank..so it's a win win situation for the food bank too

The club sets the prices for match-day and season-ticket prices. There are 37,000 season ticket holders. Almost all match-day tickets are bought direct from City. I think the number of 3rd party sales are relatively minor.
Why would we need 9 ticket providers then?

We park about a mile from the ground,I am 79 soa fair walk, then up to level 3.Sorry But I will need my seat, both hips replaced right knee replaced.Feel pleased with myself on completion Level 3 no place to rest,so sorry off straight to my seat.

I have my own protest going on anyway.... I am not buying food until they bring back the Meat and Potato pies in CBL1 concourse!!!! :-)

The hostility comes from the ones not participating. The problems city are dishing on thousands of fans doesn't impact on them so they are preaching why we are wrong to protest. No issue if you are participating in it or not, but don't tell blues who are feeling the crunch and have done for years that they are wrong for trying to put a stop to it.

Why would we need 9 ticket providers then?

The puzzler is what happens to the big game tickets with match day members not getting anywhere near the tickets because they are gone before you blink it's like they were never available?

Are matchday members just there to pick up the slack on the "Less interesting" games because the people who go to the bigger games can't be arsed, that'll be SC holders and tourists alike.
