Roll call for 9 minute protest

On a night game a lot of people have had to come straight from work, battle through traffic and have no choice but to eat and drink at the stadium as there's no time to go anywhere else. Might be different for Palace.

I understand why, there is also an element of people that won't go that time without a beer whilst being at the footy. Just a small gripe on my part, the 9 minutes alone was impressive in terms of numbers participating.

I thought it was really well done last night, with good humour and a sense of solidarity. For whatever reason City fans are not a militant bunch, but the time has come to take a stand. I was a bit concerned that it would get hostile and we would see blue on blue arguments, but thankfully there was none of that. When we came in, the regulars sat behind us who hadn’t participated said that they wished they had done. It also shows the Trafford lot that you can have a protest without smashing the place up, assaulting people and getting games called off.

That 90th minute protest was pretty impressive as thousands upped and left as soon as the 4th official held up the stoppage time board. It's possible the announcement woke them up.

For full transparency (quite apt given the subject), all representatives sign an agreement with the Club at the start of each season which in essence constitutes an NDA.

That’s fairly standard practice, particularly across the Premier League and other Fan Advisory Boards. However, Clubs need to accept that a certain element of information sharing is vital. I suspect they will emphasise the NDA card this evening but will do my best to share what I can.

They can stress the NDA card and you can stress the "9000 people protested yesterday, and your idea is that lying to them is the way to go to prevent escalation?" card.

Also, do not forget to point out that the Chairman of the club and by extension the owner agrees with us according to the leaks. I'd pick my moment to remind them of this fact but I'd certainly remind them.

Again, your entire job here is not to get fobbed off by stalling tactics or shit excuses. The amount of times that has happened in the last 10 years is what has got us here

He does actually. Though less of a dodgy stream and more of a direct satellite link that follows him wherever he is in the world to give him the opportunity to watch. His middle lad is said to be a huge City fan and attends regularly.

City made a quarter of a billion pounds of profit in the last 5 years. There are absolutely zero PSR issues. Our entire matchday revenue for every ticket sold, corporate or normal, home or away, including every concession for every team for every match last year was £75m. City posted a £74m pure profit in the same period.

There are zero excuses outside extreme greed.

Don't do the club's dirty work for them.

We have made a profit of over £250m in the past few seasons. £70m+ last year.

PSR/FFP is absolutely not relevant to this argument. The club could have let every fan in for free last season, whilst still making a profit.

Excellent interview where this lad really nails the important issues. That’s the best I’ve heard anybody explain what the demo was about.

Too many other mixed messages out there confused the issue. The young lad the Overlap seem to have on these days just comes across confused and not actually getting to the important points.

We actually got a little bit of comments, such as "Where were you?", "Oh, going for another protest" when actually nipping to the toilets, "That was a short protest" when returning. Got a bit tiresome actually but reckon they'll join in next time.

A quarter of a billion pounds in profit over the past 5 seasons mate. Don't fall for the PSR/FFP narrative. No-one's asking to be let in the stadium for free. We're asking for a price freeze and more sensible match day pricing. That's not an unrealistic request. The cost of my season ticket has gone up 31% since Covid. For fans in other parts of the stadium it'll be higher.
