I've started recording the 2nd series do I need to download the 1st series to know whats going on or can i just jump in?

I've just jumped in and I'm loving it mate.

May watch the first one tonight.

Just watched the Underbelly on CBS about Melbourne's drug war between 1995-2003 for an aussie program wasn't too shabby

You could do with watching the 1st series as so you can understand why there are certain tensions in this one. However, it is still watchable without - it's fairly easy to fill in the blanks.

The first series was spellbinding. The character Libano is one of the greatest anti-heroes in tv history in my opinion.

Not sure, there's some good continuity in story, as it has been loosely based on factual events. The first series is about the rise to power of Dandi, Freedo and Libanese and how they all met up. In fact there are no flash backs in the first series, its not until the second series that you find out how Buffalo gets his name and he Dandi and Libanese become friends.

Due to this weekends events I've searched for a thread on this topic to find some joy in Bluemoon while everyone else is being a miserable bastard.

I've watched every episode (bought the 2nd series and got it shipped from Italy after watching the first on Sky Arts). Im currently watching the whole thing again (up to S2 E4).

They're all brilliant characters but Freddo is just superb in the second series. Buffalo too. He is just a complete fucking loon and a lot of the second series owe's it's excellence to him.

Romanzo Criminale La Serie is the best TV/Film I've ever seen, it's so good that if Khaldoon and Mansour watched it they'd give Mancini an extra chance for the simple fact that he is Italian.

Cracking show, agree about fredo but was rather sad in the way it unfolded at the end - a little research into the people behind it is an eye opener... the producer is the uncle of the slimey fucker who owns Napoli!!!

Haha! No way

While I think it is perfect the way it is as 2 series, and (without spoilers) it'd be hard to think how they could carry on with a 3rd series, I would love series after series until 5 or 6 series like The Sopranos and The Wire. Not enough people in the UK know of it for there to be great demand though, and they can't really carry on the story of the gang.

It'd be great if they came up with a new set of characters and made it equally as good though. If they could tie it in with the first 2 series as well it would be monumental. 1st idea that comes to mind is to have Scialoja come into it unexpectedly in his new role.

They made the right decision to leave it at two series. After watching the final episode you end up wanting more as it's probably the best programme that has graced TV. I could think of nothing else for days after it finished.

Just think it was made with unknown actors on a low budget, what do we get over here? Fucking reality show after reality show!!!

I know exactly. They've even got one on Harpurhey/Moston now. It was abysmal and did nothing more than show us up.

Even the dramas they're coming out with are boring shite. Downton Fuckin' Abbey, do me a favour.

Back to Romanzo Criminale: Unknown actors (good ones) can sell the characters better to you because you haven't seen them a million times before in B-rate films, and you don't need a daft budget to make good TV like a lot of producers over here think.
