Romeo Lavia

Disappointing to see him go but always seemed like the timing of a potential pathway wasn't quite right.

If Dinho had been a couple of years younger then Lavia would've been in the perfect position to develop further as Rodri's understudy. But no way were City going to gamble on an 18 year-old being able to step up if Rodri was injured, particularly this year.

Pep would love if the club could have a 'B' team in the Championship but that's not happening so this is the next best option. Hope he's one of the few who reach the level City are looking for and bring him back.

True in most part, but there were opportunities to play him last season that were ignored.

Agreed. I think Pep is fairly risk averse when it comes to young players. Don't think it would have made much difference here though.

Really hope he develops the way many have believed he would and ends up back at the club.

This lad has real potential and I had high hope's, but he needs game time and with Philip's joining that wasnt going to happen.
At least with a buy back if he does come good he can be ours again.

You have to trust our youth and EDS management staff though. They have just enjoyed a second clean sweep of honours at all levels. We have made a lot of money from selling on Academy players and very few of them (If any) have gone on to be truly elite players. The problem City have these days (nice one to have) is that you have to be world class (or at least potential world class) to get in the first team. I thought Lavia looked a prospect so perhaps this decision will come back to bite us...but I doubt it.
