Romeo Lavia

We ain't replacing Gundog like for like, that's highly difficult to do.
I'm starting to think this may be a double blunder because it's hard to know what Citys strategy is to yelp Rodri, on assumption we play best with a DM.
Many say the dippers will be main challengers and I don't disagree with that and Klipperty who has pulled off (ooo err) some very good value signings sees Lavia as the answer.
I don't want to write Kalvin off too soon but he's struggled so far. Lavia was scholked at City and knew our systems well. So why not have kept him last season and give him game time to rest Rodri and then identify the real deal for us and if necessary let Lavia go but for what would have been a bigger price and not spend the money on Phillips?

I agree we should not have let him go but that doesn't mean it would make sense to re-sign him now.

You could copy and paste this onto a Chelsea forum when KDB or Salah were sold on for profits.

I’m not saying he’s going to be that, more that a lot of fans (particularly of successful clubs) always think their club is making the right decision all the time and only accept mistakes in hindsight.

The people saying it’s not a mistake are just as uninformed as the people saying it might be.

All about opinions .

Last paragraph seems somewhat of a contradiction.

Anyway I don’t understand what you want city to do or have done. We do not need Lavia

We couldn’t not have inserted a buy back straight away or if we had it would have been at a high price or mean compromising on the the sell o.

The one that got away, I assure you he’s not the only one. It’s the cost of producing the best talent in the league. Chelsea suffered from Salah and KDB exits because of it, lavia could be one for us we look back in time and regret, but entirely situational and not much we can do.

The story of our summer
Seems to be. I don’t understand that though - we apparently earned £300m from successful season, plus sales of academy and senior players, and yet we’re struggling to buy at the £100m mark. Doesn’t make sense……
I have this sneaky suspicion too, that the FA may try to impose a transfer ban on us if their accusations prove true. So, panicking may not be a bad idea!

IF the PL were likely to give us a ban we would be splashing the cash, were not.

We must have had to pay out an enormous sum in player/staff bonuses but as you say we have raised a lot of cash in the last few windows.

Sometimes I don't get our reluctance to go and get a player like we used to.

It's frustrating because we could have him in the squad now as a willing and much more able deputy than Phillips. And this is why debate about our transfer dealings is merited; the club are good in the market but not infallible. I fear we're lumbered with Kalvin.

It is frustrating. However, we didn’t really ever splash the cash did we? We always seemed to have a ceiling of under £70m, until grealish. What I don’t get, is how Arsenal and Chelsea (neither of whom won owt) can seemingly spend whatever they want. Chelsea = £600m in x6 months!

Lumbered is the right word - my,my he was a very poor buy wasn’t he?
