Still the best Brazilian player by a mile but going in for him wouldn't be smart really. I'd love to see him here on a loan deal though, maybe a season or two, still a world class player.
No he isn't lol. He's been poor for the last 3 or so years, doesn't him being dropped from the Brazil setup tell you something? Robinho is a miles better option in his position nowadays.

I'd rather get the real Ronaldo back than 'dinho.

If Ronaldinho got fit, he could easily get in the top 3 in the world.
Based on what? How often have you actually watched him since he left Barca?

Ronaldinho can still score a free kick or put a ball in or thread a pass through that Robinho can only dream about, has a better shot, corner, cross & is still better at beating men even now. He took the rags fullback (that easily had Robinho in his pocket) straight to the cleaners last season.

Go to about 1:20. Find me a better pass that Ronaldinho has played in the last 2 years, or his whole career even.

Can't be arsed finding videos of Robinho's Santos goals but I hear he's scored something like 26 in 24 games. Not bad for someone who can't shoot eh? What's Ronaldinho's goalscoring record been like past few seasons?

I'm not really arsed about corner taking ability, it's not an attribute I tend to look for in a player. Both are right footed players that play on the left side, so neither of the 2 ever really cross the ball.

The beating a man thing is absolute bollocks and you know it. Even when they were at Real and Barca Robinho was almost at the same standard, never mind nowadays. Ronnie's balance is shit nowadays because of the extra weight, added to the fact that he doesn't have the acceleration anymore to break away from his man.

Took the rag defender to the cleaners? I can remember him having a decent 20 minute spell at the San Siro in the first half, he did fuck all for the remainder of the 2 legs. Robinho's only played in 1 derby in November '08 and had about 3 players marking him every time he touched the ball IIRC.

So Robinho did fuck all for 90 then? Wheras unfit Fat Ron took their fullback to the cleaners for 20 & his play should have won the game, as I said.

Similar standard my arse. Fat Ron was a Barca legend & one of their all time greats who even got a standing ovation from Madrid fans with one of the greatest performances anyone's ever seen, Robinho was a Madrid benchwarmer who they wanted to dump at his peak.

That was a great pass from Robinho yes I don't need youtube, I remember it, absolutely brilliant, he does that occasionally. If you've never seen Ronaldinho play a similar one then either you've never really watched him or have an irrational grudge against him so I'm not about to waste my time discussing it as I'll be flogging a dead horse. He's even played passes like that whilst looking the other way I remember many instances of those. (& with both feet).

Taking corners & free kicks does matter incidentally, it wins half the games in a season, ask Beckham, he dreams of being as good at it as Fat Ron too.

I don't want fat Ron now incidentally, unless it's as a swap for Robinho which is exchanging one lazy git for another fatter one with twice as much talent. They're both a pair of lazy arsed talent wasting arseholes now though.

Btw, Santos!!??

Whatever then we'll agree to disagree, can't be arsed arguing at this time. All I will say is that if Ronaldinho was 'still the best Brazilian player by a distance', he'd still be getting in their actual squad.

He is the kind of player every team needs. Sombody who can create something from nothing and create a goal or score one himself.

Old thread I know, but thought I'd post anyways.

Ronaldinho is definitely City material. He can create something from absolutely nothing and really has that 'flair' that makes him magnificent to watch. He absolutely loves the game--every time you see him, he has the big smile on his face, even if his team is down 9-0 (which doesn't happen very often). He has the heart City needs, and has that creative spark that would really brighten up our play. I think the problem with him now is that he keeps getting played as a striker. He belongs in midfield, where he can be as creative as possible and feed the other players. He can work his magic and still beat men and score, or use that magic to assist someone else. He had the most assists in Serie A last season. He should be playing CAM, where he has the most creative control and he can sculpt the play as he sees fit.

...In short: yes. He would be phenomenal in light blue.
