Just a reminder of what a phenomenal player this guy was.

He was incredible, had defences terrified.

Still curious to know what happened to him before the France 98 final (later found some articles online and it appeared he had a seizure).

Considering the severity of some of his injuries, he did well to come back at all, his knee looked fucked - let alone come back and win the Golden Boot in 02 WC, then of course there was his performance against Utd a year after.

What a weird coincidence, I watched that video this morning. Incredible talent, his ball control was mind blowing.

Reminds me of staying up all night for Copa America just to watch this guy. One of the best ever.

His acceleration is incredible, once you had been beaten he was gone. Truly one of the best players of all time and possibly, without injury, the best.

i am convinced that pressure from his sponsors made his selection in the world cup when he was clearly out-of-it. Same with Beckham, injured yet still picked .

Heard on the news he's just moved to London to do an advertising course.

Anyway I digress, one of the very best there has ever been. I rate him up there as one of my all time favs along with Stoichkov, Romario and Hagi (obv none city players)

As a 23 year, ronaldo was the first football superstar that I can remember. He was brilliant. I also had a crush on his girlfriend.

With Messi and fake Ronaldo alot of people forget how exceptional a player Ronaldo was.

Would have been brilliant to see him in English football.

Cloesest thing to a modern day Pele.
