Pogba's hype is based on looking decent against the likes of Chievo and Sassuolo....
I think 'hype' is a little bit harsh, but I basically agree. But Pogba has more to his game than Barkley imo.

Not really. Scored 1 assisted 1 but gave the ball away far too much plus Southampton were absolutely shocking.Has someone had a good game?
I think that's as much to do with position utilised than anything else; he's not really a #10, the best game of his career to date was deeper in midfield where he showed a decent passing range, tenacity in the tackle, superb mobility and the capacity to drive past people similarly to Yaya at his best.
How would Pogba have faired for Everton last season? Put Barkley in Serie A with Vidal, Pirlo and Tevez and he'd have looked great as well.
I think Barkley's ceiling as an advanced player is a lot lower than if he evolves into an orthodox central midfielder; he's similar to Toure in the sense that he's a physical juggernaut but also very technically refined. He really can become the perfect Premier League midfield player; like Gerrard but without the inclination to play the 40 yard Hollywood ball every time he gets it. Barkley's short passing game is hugely underrated, mainly due to the fact he's generally too far forward to properly exhibit it.
I don't really like, nor have any desire to have any scousers at our club, but this is one that I think we should make an exception for.
