£30m would be a ridiculous price for Barkley, but it would be par for the course from Everton. They'd charge you a tenner for a £5 note. He looks decent enough, but for £30m you should be getting one of the worlds best players, not just the latest english talent to receive the hype treatment

He's a good player, but he's certainly not 3/4's of an aguero. 8-9 million would be the going rate if he was playing in Spain/France/Italy.

Tottenham have been quoted £30m by Southampton for Luke Shaw too. Southampton are well within their rights, but when people complain about a lack of English signings, this is the problem... you have to pay double (and sometimes more) the worth to get one of the few who might be good enough.

But we had no choice, we need English players. Yeah, I like Pogba & Gundogan better than Barkley. But....City is English club, we need English players.

Well no, we actually do have a choice. The only rule, in the league at least, is we can't name more than 17 non-homegrown players, but Hart, Clichy, Micah, Rodwell and others are homegrown... as is Guidetti is we opt to keep him.

As it stands, with what he has shown so far and the potential of what he "could" develop into, i'd say he is worth between £15M - £18M ... Obviously that means Everton will look for £22M - £25M at least... For that they can F*uck right off!

we should definately sign him, but I reckon it would have be down the lines of £15m upfront and Everton get the rest in bonuses if he achieves what we expect him to.

That way we've got our money's worth if we have to pay the full fee.

He and Shaw are the two we should be making a statement to our rivals about and sealing the deal on.
