No I pulled him up because he has an irrational obsession with Pakistanis. If he gets offended because he's classed as an Asian then tough titty, that's what he is - he's even posted and identified himself as Asian previously.I don't know what your point is but it isn't being well made. If you want to start a thread on another subject then feel free. The reason why a lot of these crimes were covered up is because of misguided sensibilities and it's a valid point. If you don't think so then that's your call however that isn't my opinion or of course the opinion of many others. Calling these sex gangs Asian is not only insulting to other Asians it's hiding who the sex gangs are and what cultural attitudes are in play, you just pulled an Asian up on this thread for being offended for being lumped in with these predators.

They are both - Asian and Muslim.That's the point isn't it? Calling the offenders Asian is offensive to Asians when in fact these particular rapists were overwhelmingly Muslim and the last time I checked Muslim isn't a race.

In my mind, mentioning the ethnicity of the offenders after they have been caught, is implying a link between their ethnicity and the offences. Of course the other reading is that it was a racially-motivated crime, in which case it's typical to mention the race of the offenders and the victims. But I can see a situation where someone from Sri Lanka gets pissed off at negative headlines associating Asians with rape.How have they offended all of Asia?
