Roy Bailey

For some reason I thought it was Brian Horton who got rid of Bailey, replacing him with Eamonn Salmon.

Any one know what happened to him after he left city all them years ago? Tried googling but no news from the last 10 years or so.
Anybody heard anything about Gary Owen, saw nothing off him when Colin Bell passed away, which i thought a bit strange. ?

For veteran physios like Dave Butler, Roy Bailey (twice) and Ian Liversedge (four times) that experience remains raw.

In 1991, Bailey was dismissed by then-Man City manager Peter Reid having spent 20 years looking after the needs of the club’s injured players. It was one of the worst days of his life, shattering both him and his family.

Reflecting on that day, Roy said; “No one will ever understand how hurt I was. It’s a feeling that I’ll never forget.” Roy’s departure from the club left him a void, and it took him a while to get over.

For some reason decided to do City's mini pre season tour of Devon in 96 which took in Exeter City and Plymouth(must have had shit loads of money spare in those days!)
After the Exeter game on the Thursday night when in a pub full of City fans I noticed that Roy Bailey was in there with Asa Hartford and Glyn Pardoe (it was a long time ago and pretty sure this was the 'line up')
Managed to have a bit of a chat with all three , remember them all being really friendly and all quite clearly having a lot of affection for the club and the fans (just been relegated from Prem a few months earlier).
For the record won that night but lost at Plymouth on the Saturday.

He was in a newspaper article the morning on the Spurs QF in 1993 entitled Pain Road, saying something like city were on the telly today but he would not watch them if they were playing in his back garden.

Did he get reinstated then? As reading a few websites he was also sacked after Joe Royle left.
