Roy Bailey

I remember Roy very well I was 12 just after the 81’ cup final probably the weekend after believe it or not the team turned up at Glossop cricket club for a charity cricket match Bond, Benson and sainty with Roy he was our version of chappy in the day .
Always remember Roy leading the candle lit protest on the kippax back in the day.
( foot note to this Clive Wilson was on the boundary he got the corky left foot right foot left foot right foot etc etc just me and him he signed my 81 cup final program. Imagine this now . Happy to say I was at West Ham away for his last game for us many years later )
Up the blues.

City’s legendary physio recalls Derby Day 5-1, Yellow 89 Shirt, Eddie Large, leaving heartache, return to City, Wembley 99, Blackburn Promotion, A young Erling Haaland at City and the pure passion and love for his club during part two.

Great memories mate

I remember Roy Bailey with grateful memories, many years ago I managed the ice hockey team at Altrincham and one of our best Canadian players was injured. We rang the club and they put us in touch with Roy .. we took the player along and he helped him enormously … very kind, considerate and skilled Physio
