Damn! The button (invisible for a queen of course), neckline and sleeves look great!

If only the sponsor was in white (it is a wedding after all) and not navy blue.

Overall - Good job Nike!

A set of polls by comres and yougov last week had
66% of people not arsed about the wedding,
9% very interested
23% slightly interested
60% not gonna watch it.
57% think they should pay for the lot
76% if had a choice would say no to their taxes paying for it
58% say we should keep a monarch
37% said anyone but charlie to be king
And street party road closure and event application are down 90% nationwide.

On the tourism myth, Visit Britain have repeatedly said they have no evidence that they boost tourism in fact Chester Zoo, Stonehenge and the Roman Baths are all more successful tourist attractions than Windsor Castle, which is the only occupied royal residence to attract visitors in large numbers. If Windsor Castle was included in the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions list of top attractions it would come in as 24th most popular attraction.

Visitor numbers suggest that peole visit for our historical building, countryside and museums, and naturally as part of any hiistorical vist it would include a royal residence past or present as a destination whether a monarch existed or not.

Good luck to them today and hope they have a happy life together, but I have as much interest as I do in the 100s of other wedding I am not attending today

I like both William and Harry, especially Harry. I think their mum would be very proud of them. I wish the couple every happiness. They are both from very different, but equally dysfunctional family backrounds, and against that backdrop I hope they have a happy marriage.

The cost of the wedding will be nugatory compared to the benefit the nation will derive from the positive exposure, assuming it passes off without serious incident. Security in and around Windsor today will be insane.

That's too narrow an argument. The numbers of visitors to Windsor Castle vs Stonehenge is a side-show. Britain, especially in a post-Brexit world, needs to positively promote its idiosyncrasies to the wider world in order to distinguish itself and drive inward investment and exports. Our USP is our heritage and history, which is unmatched in Western Europe, and our royal family provides a living connection to that past.

A royal wedding in Windsor is the apotheosis of British idiosycracy and will promote our nation much more widely than a simple addition to the number of tourists visiting these isles.

It isn't my argument it is the data on record and as I said visit britain are the one saying they have no evidence the royals boost tourism.

Also is it really going to promote anything? do you think anybody in the world really cares except those that have an interest or people at high level government.
I doubt the average family in down town santiago, monrovia, kingstone or bangkok are all trying to find a stream, while most of the UK is indifferent.
Those people really interested have flown over and it is just enough to fill a park in Windsor, hardly of global interest in reality, in my opinion.

In a year tourist won't be over to windsor because a royal wedding happened, but because it's a castle and a historical cultural place to visit.
If no monarch lived their they would still visit

Aha, G, you've got an invitation!! By the way, what's nugatory mean? It is anything to do with nougat?

I can't sleep with it all. It's a beautiful day outdoors and a beautiful day for our complexes garden party.
We are all doing something to contribute and we have be placed in charge of egg and cress sandwitches and salmon volovonts which are quintessentially the pinnacle of British idiosycracy. The cost of our buffet has been kept to nugatory levels opposed to buying in from Gregg's. Anyway it's far more fun this way. Here is the full schedule for today's bash.Have a good un blues wherever you are celebrating from.

The key timings: Here are the timings of the main events on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding day:
  • 09.00 - Members of the public who have been invited to watch the wedding day from the grounds of Windsor Castle begin to arrive.
  • 09.30-11.00 - Wedding guests arrive at the Castle's famous Round Tower by coach and enter the chapel through the South Door and take their seats.
  • 11.20 - Members of the royal family begin to arrive and enter via the Galilee Porch, some on foot and others by car.
  • 11.40 - Harry and best man the Duke of Cambridge arrive at the chapel's west door, received by the Dean of Windsor. They will probably arrive on foot, walking past the thousands of spectators invited into the grounds of the castle. The moment will give Harry the chance to acknowledge the 200 representatives from charities he is associated with gathered in the Horseshoe Cloister at the bottom of the steps.
  • 11.42 - Ms Markle's mother Doria Ragland arrives at the Galilee Porch and is received by the Dean of Windsor.
  • 11.45 - The Prince of Wales arrives at the Galilee Porch.
  • 11.52 - Following protocol, the Queen will be the last member of the royal family to arrive for the wedding service.
  • 11.59 - Ms Markle arrives at the Chapel's West Steps by car, from her overnight accommodation at the Cliveden House Hotel in Taplow, Berkshire. Ms Markle will walk through the Nave on her own followed by her bridesmaids and pageboys who include Princess Charlotte and Prince George, before being accompanied by Charles down the aisle of the Quire.
  • 12.00 - Service begins.
  • 13.00 - Service ends and the newlyweds emerge at the West Steps of the Chapel. They will be waved off on their carriage procession through Windsor by members of both families. The congregation will file out of the chapel to see the married couple leave before heading to St George's Hall for a lunchtime reception hosted by the Queen.
  • 13.05 - The carriage procession through the streets of Windsor possibly begins around this time, taking 25 minutes.
  • 19.00 - Bride and groom depart Windsor Castle for the evening reception at Frogmore House, hosted by the Prince of Wales.

You've used the data to promote an argument that is too narrowly formulated imo, for the reasons I have already set out.

I believe it will be widely watched and positively promote 'UK Plc', which is going to need all the help it can get in the years ahead.

Again, the numbers actually attending in Windsor is a side-show, and anyone who does is more than a little weird imo.
