RSC Anderlecht Thread - 2022/23

Gutted for Vinny but you can see his steel gradually transforming Anderlect back to where they should be. He will use the defeat to encourage the team to better things - see the League Cup semi defeat against the rags for proof of this

Indeed. 1 good transfer window this summer. And I think we can play for the tittle.

But a lot of work this summer. And winning the cup would have made things much easier, because of the European football. Now we still have to wait until the end of the playoffs, and even if we end up 3rd, we still have to play qualifiers for the Conference League.
Gutted for Vincent. Feel your disappointment. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Owned by Brighton/ Brighton owner Tony Bloom. Seems to have implemented the same philosophies and done a great job.

No doubt Brighton will have first dibs on any of their players.

Be nice if they get in the Champs League of Vinny can’t. Makes a change from Club Brugge and historically I think they are the 3rd most successful Belgian league team (could be wrong). Great sleeping giant story.

Saw USG play earlier in the season. Mitomo who scored this weekend scored a hatrick that day (against Seraing) and is on loan from Brighton.

Think most of Belgium would not begrudge them the title but seemed to have been running out of steam before the league split. I suspect Brugge will end up nicking it.

If USG can win the league with their resources, it shouldn't take a lot for Anderlecht to get back on track. They just need sensible scouting.

Lost today. Can anyone explain the rise of USG? Promoted last year and now top of the league.

They just have a good team, with a lot of stability. Didn't lose a lot of players last summer. With Undav and Vanzeir 2 players in front who make the goals. When Panzer had a long suspension, and playing against the smaller teams parking the bus, they had a hard time. Against the big teams they get space, and use it very good.

Big questions for next year I think. With lots of players probably leaving. But personally I hope they get the title this year.

Thanks for that, appreciated.
