Yeah , i've also heard from another forum that the two clubs are arguein' over Caicedos valuation ...... which surely can't have dropped all that much from the alleged £5.2 million that we paid for him in January 2008.

£20 million cash plus Caicedo might just swing it if it's true.

We should perhaps leave things for a couple of hours to see if anything else has been going down before we start make any assumptions, pointing the finger etc.

I, for one, have got to think that they were relying on getting someone else, and that probably backfired last minute, and we were just playing Blackburn/RSC along in the interim, thinking we'd get him if all else failed. If they really wanted him, without any other target, then they have fouled up...but fair do's if they didn't want to be held to ransom. It is tough to call. Nobody knows what goes on behind the scenes and the figures discussed.

Bellamy, Benjani, Boj, Sturridge, Caceido, Evans are just going to have to do it. Unfortunately, you can see last Saturday's performance being repeated time and time again.

Mr Hughes, you are just going to have to change things for the better with what you've got. Just do it!

With most of the UKs airports closed we might have one last signing coming from abroad... all it would take would be both clubs agreeing a fee (pending a medical) and emailing the FA. Personal terms and medicals would be done later.

I cannot believe that MH and GC would have bid for RSC without having a backup in place. To bid for RSC is to recognise the need for a target man and therefore we must have had other players in mind too.

That being said I think people are quick to forget that we have made 4 decent signings which will strengthen us in key areas. Add to that a few players returning from injury and I think we will be much improved from the first half of the season.
