Roque says Carlos wants to be with his family, but will probably see his contract out before returning home. With the financial fair play rules, we will not want to let him leave on a free, and i don't envisage an Argentinian club paying huge amounts of money for him. So how realistic is the possibility that we might sell him to Real Madrid in the summer to get about £50m for him while we can, and he can go back home in 3/4 years via Spain instead? How likely is that? I must say, i'm getting quite worried. There's a Tevez is homesick story every other week, and they say there's no smoke without fire. How concerned should we be? I'd be very surprised if we let him run his contract down until 2014 and go back home on a free. It does seem quite unlikely that he'll sign a new deal with us, so how soon will the club start thinking about selling him? I suppose if we manage to find ways around Platini's rules, we could quite happily let him leave on a free in 2014 and settle for having had 5 years out of him whilst he was at his peak? So many questions!
