Just read on TalkTransfers :

Mark Hughes is ready to bring out his chequebook and prepare bids for three of Europe’s most mouthwatering forwards.

The City chief has his eyes on Barcelona frontman Samuel Eto’o, Blackburn’s Roque Santa Cruz and arch-rival Manchester United’s Carlos Tevez.

All three have a big chance of signing on at Eastlands this summer, with Joan Laporta announcing earlier that Eto’o could leave a reasonable offer is received.

He said:

“It would be lovely if Samuel could finish his career here. But the market is very dynamic and there could be surprises in store. Eto’o is one of those players for whom you get important offers.”

As for Santa Cruz, the Paraguayan would prove a tremendous signing for Hughes, especially with the likes of Robinho already at the club. A bid is expected to be offered to Blackburn for around £25 million.

Last but not least, Man City’s fiercest rivals Manchester United could find their prized asset Carlos Tevez snatched away from them with City reportedly keen on making a £30 million offer for him.

Doesnt he have a buy out clause of £17 million which comes into effect end of june?

I will say this only once more (not aimed at you directly blue1973).... A deal was struck for £15m (Just before Hughes joined us) regardless of what the papers say it is. I can tell you now that it was £15m max. Now it may have gone up since the end of the season I dont know but again £15m was the price! I know this for fact as it's come from RSC himself. Fat Sam was the reason the deal started going tits up then RSC failed a medical and that pretty much ended it at the time. Should we go in again? I think not. Will we? Highly possible and it wouldnt suprise me, unfortunatly I cant ask my contacts/mates as one is now in Finland enjoying his end of season break, the other I assume is in Macedonia on international duty for Norway?
I think he would be good for City and his dip in form last term was due to all the messing around, the player was made promises that Blackburn didnt deliver and in turn his attitude (right or wrong) was fuck it.

Build a squad, not have to rely on Ched as main centre forward next season. Cup games and the like. If we had the eleven best players in the world playing for us, during the course of a season you have injuries, suspensions that is why squad building is important if you want to win something. We have a 31 man squad now but if you went through it and asked yourself how many of the players in there are good enough to get us in top six you will probably find theres about seventeen. MH has stated want 31 quality players capable of winning us something it is what te top four have and always had that is why they are top four.

Any agreement made with City before the ADUG buy-out and especially before Hughes took charge would have absolutely no value now, so you can forget the 15 million deal. If we want him, Hughes will have to pay at least 18 million, end of...
