Rubbish players that you loved?

Roy gratrix with George poyser at the helm signed from Blackpool centre half.think lasted 1 season poor soul out of his depth
I must be one of the few members on here who remembers Gratrix (apart from you).

He was truly terrible, and as you say out of his depth. I think he would be captain of my worst-ever City side assembled from the dregs. Sugrue and Conlon would be in it, but that's probably for another thread.

Gareth Barry had no need to ‘slide into tackles’; as he was a quality player and an excellent reader of the game.
I knew this scouser who I thought knew his football until he said that he couldn’t see what the fuss was with Gareth Barry. I knew then he knew little about the game.

Pal, if you remember Eddie McMorran who played 1947-49 then you remember Roy Gratrix who played for us 1964-65!

Gazbaz was fantastic, as you say could read the game better than anyone and he needed to as had the turning pace of a truck. Also, he was amazing at the dark arts, tactical fouls, and seemed to get away with an almost trademark “accidental” handball nearly every single game. Great player. Would have been lorded in Italy.
Barry was awesome, seeing his name in the starting line up game me comfort iih. Top player.

They tried to sign him before we managed to. Wonder if he’d have said the same then? Top class player

Peter Beagrie, who like Doku, had no
Idea when he’d beaten a man and had to cross the ball.
Beagrie surely doesn’t qualify as rubbish?!

It was a crying shame that injury problems put paid to his time with us, but on his day at the back end of 93/94 and in to 94/95 he was unplayable at times.

You woudn't believe it if I told you.

No one except my wife and the income tax inspector knows my age.
Was you one of the first wave at the Normandy landings.

Only joking before any agesit remarks are made. No offence meant or intended.

Barry was pure understated class. An intelligent player who never had to be flashy, was just always in the right place at the right time.

I’ve always thought he would’ve been great in the Pep era.
