I must be one of the few members on here who remembers Gratrix (apart from you).Roy gratrix with George poyser at the helm signed from Blackpool centre half.think lasted 1 season poor soul out of his depth
I knew this scouser who I thought knew his football until he said that he couldn’t see what the fuss was with Gareth Barry. I knew then he knew little about the game.Gareth Barry had no need to ‘slide into tackles’; as he was a quality player and an excellent reader of the game.
Just Googled him, he play for City 1946 til 1949. How old are you?Anyone remember Eddie McMorran?
You woudn't believe it if I told you.Just Googled him, he play for City 1946 til 1949. How old are you?
Pal, if you remember Eddie McMorran who played 1947-49 then you remember Roy Gratrix who played for us 1964-65!I must be one of the few members on here who remembers Gratrix (apart from you).
He was truly terrible, and as you say out of his depth. I think he would be captain of my worst-ever City side assembled from the dregs. Sugrue and Conlon would be in it, but that's probably for another thread.
Barry was awesome, seeing his name in the starting line up game me comfort iih. Top player.Gazbaz was fantastic, as you say could read the game better than anyone and he needed to as had the turning pace of a truck. Also, he was amazing at the dark arts, tactical fouls, and seemed to get away with an almost trademark “accidental” handball nearly every single game. Great player. Would have been lorded in Italy.
They tried to sign him before we managed to. Wonder if he’d have said the same then? Top class playerI knew this scouser who I thought knew his football until he said that he couldn’t see what the fuss was with Gareth Barry. I knew then he knew little about the game.
Look at the post 5 before yours. He remembers this Gratrix fella.Pal, if you remember Eddie McMorran who played 1947-49 then you remember Roy Gratrix who played for us 1964-65!
Same here, sometimes I come on this forum to feel younger!Look at the post 5 before yours. He remembers this Gratrix fella.
I was born in 1972, I don't remember him, I think he sounds like a character from Asterix :)
Beagrie surely doesn’t qualify as rubbish?!Peter Beagrie, who like Doku, had no
Idea when he’d beaten a man and had to cross the ball.
Was you one of the first wave at the Normandy landings. You woudn't believe it if I told you.
No one except my wife and the income tax inspector knows my age.
came to our supporters club branch meeting, took pleasure in telling us he was a red, i walked outI thought Tony Vaughan was a City fan as a kid
He scored a great goal for us, can’t remember the game, but his heart was in the right placeBarry Conlon
.....Barry, Barry, Barry!
