Not claiming to be an expert here, but I do want to point out that the links to Dias appeared long before the Kounde interest.

Everyone seems to be assuming Dias was backup to Kounde. I'm not sure that's the case. This got pushed across the line when the Kounde rumors picked up steam, which leads me to believe the opposite.

Only time will tell whether it's the right decision or not. But I don't think he was the fallback to Kounde. Looking forward to seeing how he plays in sky blue.

We are getting him because of Benfica's financial problems. Not because he told us anything, otherwise we would have to pay his €100m clause.

Dias has been mentioned on here for a couple of years tbf.
