Well and truly crunch time this weekend for the games, England v France points to England with the French in turmoil but expect the unexpected from France. Ireland I can see having too much for the Welsh. South Africa v Aussies will be a belter and the Australians look timid to me so the brute strength of the South African pack should see them through. New Zealand against Argentina could be a landslide for the home side.

The Aussies think they were invinicble before the Ireland match. Then after the Ireland game nothing but sour grapes. I think SA will win this. The Aussie team are a young team and I think the next World Cup they will have a great chance of winning it outright.

As for the weekend games Ireland v Wales will be a classic game. Whoever wins this game I think will make it to the World Cup final. Not impressed with England or the French saying that the French are a strange team they might well batter England this weekend after last weekends match. The All Blacks should get a easy win this weekend they are the favourites and I cant see anyone beating them to be honest.

I took Ireland @ 40/1 each way in the World Cup beat Wales and England or France and I will be laughing.

Ireland beating the Aussies has blew the whole thing wide open for the northern hemisphere. This was not supposed to happen.

If England beat France you would have to hope they could beat Wales/Ireland in a semi final. That means it could be England in the world cup final on derby day!!

Jay in recent years England have a shit record against Ireland. The warm up game just before the World Cup was the first time England beat Ireland in a long long time. Ireland normally have too much power in the backs and with Wilkinson playing for England they dont use there backs as much as they should its a kicking game for England all the time in big games.

Maybe so but in a semi final situation I would still back England. Getting to the last two finals will mean a lot to the English mentality, by hook or by crook they get there.

England have been far from their best but I don't mind that in the group stages of a world cup. The important thing is they improve from here on in and 8/1 is a huge price considering the door has been blasted open to the final. Having said that, France could easily twat us. Wales are not out of it against Ireland either

The good thing Ireland have going for them. So many of the team have won Heineken Cup medals. With Munster and Leinster a lot of those players have done it on the highest stage in European rugby. This will give all these players nothing but confidence. All of the Ireland team think they can win it outright and for some of the senior players its there last chance. IF Ireland get by Wales they will get to the final whoever wins that match will more than likely play the All Blacks in the final. The Welsh game will be Irelands hardest game of the tournament they have played well so far.

which is everything I don't like about the Irish model, essentially two teams, not even that it's like counties, against the English club model it's deeply unfair.

Ireland should beat Wales and because of sod's law regarding the Irish they'll get all passionate and beat the English, and hopefully get stuffed in the final.
