Rum

Saw this 50cl bottle of Havana club Maximo for $1700 4 years ago in the duty free shop in Cuba where a 1l bottle of especial or 7 anos costs $5.
It's no wonder Cuba is my go to holiday destination!

My usual choice is, Woods full strength navy rum (57%), very smooth considering the high abv.

My favourite is Diplomatico Reserva, a 12 year old Venezuelan rum, which is very moreish.

Woods rum. Absolute poison but clearly good what it is intended for, which is totally inebriating people. When I was playing rugby it was the hurtful painful drink of choice for the forwards after the game, doubles of it 'awarded' tackle of the match, missed tackle of the match, scrummager of the match, twat of the match, fight of the match and so on. It was/is nasty as fuck as a drink, if it can be called that. Played away once in the Anglo-Welsh cup at Bedford and stayed in a hotel on the 5th floor of a 10 floor building. I spewed up woods rum once and the smell went from floor 1 to 10 like it was eating through the pipes.
I'm sure it's alcohol content was / is well above the usual 40 percent proof.
