Anyone ever broken or cracked a rib? Played football a week ago and got an elbow in the ribs and fuck me it hurts. Cant run, god help me when i need to sneeze or cough and just hoping it eases up soon.
Yes I've bruised ribs badly years ago in the mosh pit at a punk gig and being squashed against the barrier at the front of the stage. Hurt like hell and caused pain just breathing for at least a week. Went to A&E but not broken. After about two weeks pain subsided and much better.

Rest for a couple of weeks and will be fine.

Same as another poster, I bruised them too, but had to get them X-Rayed as I was in a lot of pain.

Yeah, I had a rather embarrassing space hopper-related incident in the teachers' race on sports day and managed to crack a rib. I fucking amaze myself at times.

Hope all is well

Ran 10k at half 6 Monday morning before work. Not sure who I have become in a previous life would have been hungover, struggling to get up at 8 for work. Today decided to do 5k but keep heart down. Really struggled to keep it out of zone 5 unfortunately. Wasn't worried about time or pace but just kept watching heart rate which was usually between 156-158. Going to keep trying to get it down

Heart rate can be high if you've worked hard a lot recently with your running or other physical activity. Could it be that you are in need of a cutback week? If you're a regular runner, it's recommended that every third or fourth week comprises of reduced mileage in order to allow your body to recover from the hard work and to avoid burnout. You would usually really notice the improvements you've made after you've had a cutback week.

Have signed up for the Great Manchester Run HM (in Sept) with a few guys from work as a charity thing. Done it a couple of times before but it'll be weird being around so many people after having to keep distanced for so long. Going to train hard for this one as I particularly enjoy getting better times than the guys in my office who are 20 years younger than me!

Thanks mate, going to gauge next few runs with lower heart rate. Never really looked at it much before but in review almost every run in zone 5 hence why trying to bring it down. Usually just run 5 or 10k without thinking about it. Today's 5k was 5 mins slower than normal but much more comfortable. Aiming to do that for next few runs. I usually run 3 times a week and varies between 5-10k

About to sign up for the London 10k ASICS - but worried it will cancel because of case rates. It’s the last weekend of July.
