Totally agree. You have to be very careful what you say so I will be circumspect in my comments and not refer to any religions in particular.

But I think it's outrageous how kids are indoctrinated from birth in this hocus-pocus, such that they believe it deeply and profoundly and waste their lives following nonsense and then inflicting the same on their kids.

That is not to say that some of the concepts of love thigh neighbour etc are not decent principles, but wasting your entire life going to prayers and other stuff? At the very best, I conclude that religion is a complete waste of time, at best. But of course it's far more damaging than that when you consider the endless conflicts, misery and loss of lives in the name of mumbo jumbo.

We all need a moral compass however we do not need religion in any form to develop one.

I created this thread because i love all things science and was hoping a signal had been received. Seeing 20
odd pages had been added in less than a week made me think there had been some new info added, such a shame it is the usual bollocks that clogs this forum every other week. btw, i'm a roman catholic, i believe in god and Jesus Christ, i believe that the bible is mainly parables but i do believe. I don't for one second mind if others don't( they may be right). I don't hate anyone except for rags and i don't hate other cultures or races. I welcome genuine refugees to these shores and hope we can all one day just get where we need to be. I also love science, it's probably the most interest thing there is to me. Quantum physics blows my mind and the more i learn the more it seems to solidify my faith. I'm waffling but what i'm trying to say is peace to you all and please don't tar us all with the same brush, remember 99% of all wars are not caused by religion but resources. a lot of humans are bastards. That "John Travolta in my local" line was a belter too.

I was brought up in the same faith but science had the opposite effect.

It's funny how the same evidence can be interpreted so differently and lead me to think it's all made up and yours to be strengthened.
