Amazing when you consider what the Nazis/Germans did in Russia.

Absolutely,it was brutal.The Nazis viewed all Slavs as sub human and treated them as such,the Russians repaid the favour as they advanced.

Absolutely,it was brutal.The Nazis viewed all Slavs as sub human and treated them as such,the Russians repaid the favour as they advanced.

I think Obama probably sent Putin a case of champagne for getting him out of the Syrian mess. (if he was able to run again I bet he would think before answering campaign questions in a flippant way that a few years later almost had them on the brink of invading a country)

In the war on the eastern front if you were a Russian you were almost as likely to be murdered in a brutal fashion by your own as you were by the German forces.

Stalin on many occasions would order a line of his own machine gunners to sit just behind the advancing forces, if anyone retreated they would be mown down, their families would be instantly dropped from any state assistance and in some cases they too would be murdered for the perceived cowardice of a loved one.

Communism was horrible, infact Stalin killed more of his own people than Hitler ever could. So i am not surprised that some former communist states go to the ideals of its enemy during communism. It is perfectly logical, i am not saying its morally right or anything but it is expected for some to think in such a way.

People often say they support St.Pauli cos they are a left wing club (communist) but they never are criticized for their flags and songs... It is quite hypocritical because deaths attributed to Nazis are drop in the ocean compared to Communism. I'd rather live in Fascist Germany than a Communist country (if they existed and had to choose one).

People who bring politics to sport are fucking idiots though.

In fairness to the Russians, the vast majority of continental clubs have an element of their Ultras that will go about with those sorts of symbols. (pretty much every Lazio fan, Real Madrid's Ultras Sur, etc.)

Not all Russians were anti-Nazi. Those left over from the Revolution including Cossacks/Ukrainians that fought against the reds/Bolsheviks later fought on the German's side in WW2 many though fought with reluctance against the Western Allies.

Expecting political asylum many including non combatants were handed back to Stalin at the end of the war who executed them. These included Cossacks handed over by the British at Lienz in Austria. As alluded to in fictitious 007 Golden Eye, "NOT our finest hour".

Left extremism meets right extremism at the top of the spectrum. Stalin was no better than Hitler.

The Germans call the raping that happen "their holocaust" (I know it sounds mad, but what went on in those battles and the revenge afterwards by all parties could be considered some of the most evil acts between humans ever)

A German officer who was involved in the rape and destruction of Poland when it became clear that the Poles were looking forward to the Russians arriving was actually executed on his return to Germany for what the Nazis called "Horrific behaviour" Just how fucked up do you have to be for the Nazi Party to say that something you have ordered is horrific?
