Russian invasion of Ukraine

What a guy. Fighter takes a minute to pay his respects to the Queen. Thank you, Sir.

He speaks better English than most British people do.

Is this a common thing in Ukraine? I’m surprised at just how well spoken lots of Ukrainian people are.

Slava Ukraini! Heroyam Slava!

Wonderful. It seems that Kupyansk is much more significant than just another town too, cuts off thousands of Russian troops further south.

Russian army appears to be suffering two simultaneous routs around Kherson and Kharkiv, to follow the first at Kyiv.

Just marvellous to see.

You have to wonder when someone high up in the Russian military throws the towel in on ‘the special operation’ and defies Putin. They can’t keep committing troops into Ukraine with the losses they are taking. It’s utter madness ploughing on when they aren’t on the offensive anymore, winter could give them rest bite till the spring but do the Russians have the resources or willingness to fight to pool together the amount of troops and equipment they amassed on the border in February 2022.

I know a fair few Polish people who live in Britain. They have a similar language to Ukraine, and one lad said that they commonly speak in what the average Brit would consider to be well spoken/posh/big words language as the norm in Poland. There seems to be a lot less slang and wrong grammar used.

They learn English using the words they speak in Polish and they come across as very intelligent. When they get used to the dialect that most Brits use, they have to learn the dumbed-down version of English that we use as it’s not what they were taught.

Basically, with all our “I didn't have no beans in de cupboard so I gone down de shop to get some more” and “you was right wiv dat what you said den innit” kind of talk that fucking loads of Brits use, makes us all sound thick as fuck… or should I say “ffick as fuck”? to people from other countries.

Loads of our adults use infant-English as their normal way of speaking. It’s a bit sad on our part really, that a huge amount of our adult population regularly use language that they haven’t developed since being about six years old.

They don’t have that in Poland (and seemingly Ukraine). Their adults speak like adults and not like infants.

I must admit it’s not a 100% true info but there’s a rumour that yesterday at security council in kremlin one of the slightly drunk general told the **** to fuck off
