If there were ever 30,000 there (russia do sneak out the odd lie), they'll have been pulling them out for days, not just since Tuesday.Ok, so what has happened to the 30,000 Russian troops that were on the West Bank of the Dnipro? According to Russia they formed an orderly queue with literally ALL their equipment and got on a magic carpet back to the other side, but we know that every official Russian statement is a lie so that didn’t happen. From what was said by those in the know on here those same Russians were being killed or captured in huge numbers. The BBC doesn’t suggest there was much of a fight, and there are reports of them putting on civilian clothes and trying to slip away. While claimed Russian losses for yesterday are around 3k that includes killed, injured and captured and is across the whole of Ukraine. So is there any definitive consensus on what happened to them all? It’s like they just vanished.
In fact @SPIDERBOY and @CTID1977 have been posting twitter reports of abandoned posts for a couple of weeks now, but nobody could really verify the reports until the Ukraine forces arrived. There was also phone data yesterday that showed many were on the water, probably floating down it on the remains of the pontoon bridges, and presumably other boats they nicked.
It was also quite a large area they had initially occupied on the west of the river, but it has been shrinking for at least a month, it was always stupid trying to defend an area that size with only 2 viable bridges.
