I am genuinely hoping that this push leads to mass surrender and desertions among the the Russian ranks which spreads like a contagion leading to a swift collapse.

I think it’s certainly possible although less than likely. Significantly depends on what the extent and pace of the advances are.

Totally agree, although not as easy as us looking from afar think.
Currently reading "The Battle For Spain" by Antony Beevor. The way that he refers to the Republican/Communist troops attacks and advances resonates today showing that Russia hasnt really moved on. The whole human wave, lack of resources, favouring of certain units has applied to Russia/Putins current ego trip.
Then there is the whole way they dealt with those retreating, or deserting as they considered it. How many will be shot or butchered to make a point that you do not retreat?
For Stalin communist idea read Putins ego mania and desire to almost model himself in his image.
Putin sits as home in luxury whilst he sends his own countrymen to be slaughtered...it would be shameful if he had any shame.
