Russian invasion of Ukraine

The outcome of this war will define our age.
And hopefully for future generations. How Ukraine stood up to the poisoned dwarf to begin with was extraordinary, especially with no guaranteed support from other countries

Their utter bloody mindedness to never give up and never give in is overwhelming. I hope the UK and other countries support them until they win this war (one started by a demonic pillock)

The UK does have a fixed air defence system with long-range air defence radars linked to a control centre at RAF Boulmer. The radars are situated in the north of the Shetlands down to Cornwall, most of them on the east coast. We used to have Boing AWAC Sentry aircraft to supplement the ground radars but they went out of service in 2021 and will be replaced by the E7 Wedgetail starting later this year. RN air defence ships, with missiles, can integrate with ground systems during exercises or times of conflict. We also automatically exchange air defence information with NATO systems, from the top of Norway, down to southern France. Typhoon aircraft carry out interceptions of Russian bombers and intelligence aircraft on a regular basis. They are vectored onto their targets by ground controllers based at Boulmer and other sites.

We don't have any ground-based long-range missiles to intercept enemy targets though. Bloodhound Mk2, which had a range of up to 150 miles, went out of service in 1991 and was not replaced. The Rapier and other army systems are short-range (20 miles) systems.
Don’t tell him, Pike!
